Default Suntan Lotion Sprays !!! NO LONGER ALLOWED ON MY BOAT !!

Okay Guys
Have you guy experienced any red or orange colors staining your fiberglass
on the boat due to the use of Spray on suntan Lotion ?

This has happened on my boat three times and I finally found out that the problem was SPRAY on suntan Lotion, It leaves a stain that does not wash off
with boat soap, hull cleaner, bleach, Will try bar keepers friend next.

Anyone else had this happen on their Boat

It might depend on the brand. We use a clear (can't remember the name) and no stain problems. I do make sure they are hainging over the gunwale, downwind, so it doesn't creat a slip and fall hazard. That chit on a deck is like Pledge on a wood floor.

I posted this same problem 1 or 2 years ago. I saw pink handprints on the fiberglass. I couldn't figure it out. Our Contender was 9 years old, so the fiberglass was sun damaged and porous. We now do not allow any spray sunscreen. BTW, the sun will bleach out the sunscreen marks, just give it some time.

Noname Lotion rules!

Sounds to me like the sprays being used have some sort of self tanner added...

I use Coppertone Sunscreen SPF 75 from a spray can (it has no self tanners in it) I apply it while on my boat and re-apply it all day. No orange marks at all anywhere on my boat.
