Surprised to see out of top 5, 2 from Mass and 2 from Fla.

What was the pollution cited? Fecal coliform? Trash? Chemical? Something else?

Dang...You mean NJ needs to throw more hypo needles in the water to catch up to these places?

I fish the Shired Island area,its about 6 miles from my home over there.our biggest problem is septic systems and leach fields on the water.most lots on the water there are 100 x 100 and the septic systems are put in that small of an area get close and alot are right on the water.

I would have guessed the list of America's Most Polluted Beaches would include Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Madonna ...
