Harvey was a great orator. He could exaggerate and make you believe it's true in some way unknown to you but you, like this line from the link above:


The policeman, from a single human hair, must be able to describe the crime, the weapon, the criminal, and tell you where the criminal is hiding ...

The rest of the story....

Paul Harvey's father, Harry H. Aurandt, was a police officer with the Tulsa Police Department. Officer Aurandt was killed in the line of duty by gunfire on December 20, 1921 while trying to arrest a suspect.

I used to love to ride with my cousin on patrol.

High speed chases, fights, people shot, crack. I've seen him draw his gun and go up in people's houses at night by himself.

Sure there are a few bad apples as there are in all professions. Some of the bravest and baddest men I've ever seen are or were cops. Many of them ex or reserve military, like my cousin, who is about to be shipped off from his family to the middle east for the third time in five years.

The one's I've known, I was always proud to call my friend.
