Default Fed-Ex Question

According to a tracking number, my Lowrance GPS is enroute via Fed-Ex. The only address I have provided is my post office box. Does FEx deliver to PO's, or what should I expect on my end?

If they accepted it to a PO box, maybe they will. I always thought they did not deliver to PO boxes.

If you call Fed Ex, locally, maybe you can have them hold and notify you for pickup.

That's how we get everything sent Fed Ex here. We don't want it on their delivery truck. But thats a local issue, not in the States.

UPS and Fedex will not deliver to a POB. Typically once it arrives at the terminal they will send you a post card to come claim it just like the post office does with a package that is too big. On rare occasions they have emailed me or called me when I have gone that route but usually it's a post card.

fedex and ups will not deliver to a po box i have accounts online with both and
neither accept po box addresses.

the best method is to go to a ups related store and setup a po there because
it actually lists as an address with a suite number.

fed ex will delivery to that and these stores will take large packages and hold them for the
day. i have actually sent four plasmas to a freind and the ups related store held them for
3 days until he got there notto say thats normal.

That must have been a USPS overnight/express delivery. Only USPS can access the back of the PO box for delivery and only a customer with a key can access a box to take stuff from the front.

There's no law saying you have to take all your mail and can probably sneak in something like an envelope for the next person who checks your box (probably illegal though) but a Fedex package or envelope will stand out like a sore thumb and I can't see them asuming the liability for it.

For future reference, Fedex and UPS (and USPS) can deliver to a private box facility like "Mail Boxes ETC" used to offer before they merged with whomever they merged with. In fact, some "Fedex/Kinkos" and "UPS Stores" offer these amenitites, as do other companies. These places will sign for your deliveries and hold them securely. Some are open 24/7 while others are open fewer hours depending on demand.

For this delivery you might get a phone call requesting an alternate delivery address.

Hope this helps.

As someone that as had a POB for over 30-years, xl883lo has it right. Both FedEX and UPS deliver to POBs by way of sending a postcard (to your POB) to come to the nearest terminal and pick up the package.

Everyone else is right in that neither accept packages to be delivered to POBs, but if you have a corp account you can sneak them into the system, then the recipient will receive the postcard.

I believe it is DHL that has partnered with the post office to deliver packages to any valid US mailing address. The package moves by DHL courior to the cloests DHL terminal, and then is send via USPS (mailed) from there to reduce USPS's higher costs.
