Can anyone recommend a company that I can port my toll-free number to? The provider we use now isn't working out.

The best out there is Grasshopper (formally GotVMail) www.grasshopper.com. I have been a customer since 2005 and LOVE the service. In addition to porting your toll free number you get a virtual PBX system with recorded greetings, call routing, and a lot of other features. Check them out.

Man! This Grasshopper sounds REALLY great. I was with a company for 3 years and they were great, then they turned to crap and we started having REAL problems. We just got done porting to Verizon, ONLY because they were the only ones who could fix the problem. (The number wasn't terminating to the proper line). The problem now (Good Lord, I hope) is fixed. So I'll wait until I am 100% certain it is stable and keep researching Grasshopper. It seems like it may REALLY give us what we need. I'm wondering if it can ring to a direct person instead of that "first message". One of our "things" is that a human picks up the phone from the start. So I'll have to check with them on that. Price is fine... not the cheapest, but I need it to work, 100% reliable.
