Default who has a face book?

I put one up this week. Mainly to keep an eye on my kids, but I found it is pretty cool. I have found a bunch of people I went to high school with.
Am I the last one to be there?

I was on it for a while, but got away from it. Too many kids, too little privacy.

MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter -- they are for people that need to get a life. That is why I subscribe to NetFlix, 8-out at a time.

I started getting messages from people I went to High School with. While it was moderately interesting to hear from some of them after forty years, I was alarmed at how old-looking them suckers had gotten!

Then after a while I realized that I had already stayed in contact with the couple of people who I had anything really in common with, and the rest had pretty much lived their lives on divergent vectors. And the whole thing began to just feel a bit, I dunno, not exactly childish, or immature, or useless......but something in that general direction.

I am a member of several forums, and find that due to their very nature I have more in common with the people that gravitate to the same kind of forums that I do. We have a lot more in common. Here, for one example, I can converse with people who are interested in boats, fishing, the ocean, etc. There are other forums full of people who share some of my other interests. These take up enough time on their own, without me being involved in something like Facebook where the people in general have very little in common.

The whole "My Wall" type of thing annoys me, just like "My computer","My photos" and "My Documents" annoys me from Microsoft. Difference is that I can rename the Windows stuff to suit me.

I signed up for it a few years back and then didn't do anything with it. I recently wanted to get in touch with one of my nieces and her sister told me to look her up on face book and gave me her nickname. After we got in touch and became "friends" I saw she had notes from my mother and other people we have in common.

Some people prefer to use sites like this instead of email because they have less SPAM.

Have fun!

I have a facebook page and check it regularly. I like to chat with my kids and grandkids to see what thay are up to. It's also fun to pester them in front of their friends and be as annoying as possible. One of my daughters called me a "boob" on there a couple days ago and several of her friends seemed to find that hilarious. The weather is finally turning nice and she said she was going to "totally" lay out in the sun. I responded by saying I'd keep an eye on the news for word of plane crashes in her vicinity.

I did read somewhere that the fastest growing group of FB is women 55 and older........... maybe that should tell me something but I have't fingered it out yet.

I did the Facebook thing. Pretty cool to catch up with people that I havent seen in years. I will say this, be careful on it. It doesn't take long for your first love to find you. Dangerous! Fun but Dangerous....

Facebook, Myspace, Friends Reunited. Not very active but I get emails if anyone has posted on my account.

I find Skype the biggest value for keeping in contact with friends around the world.

I have a account. I have got back in touch with quite a few friends. We now have multiple camping an fishing trips planned. Its a great way of keeping in touch. I have less private info there than is on my tax return. I am sure that big brother already knows most of my details.

Meh..who cares. They've already got my tax info. And we're only a few years away from a national electronic medical record. Past that..why do I care if they know where I am surfing the internet? It's not that I necessarily want them to virtually follow me around..I just don't care. I don't have anything to hide.

I don't know who to feel more sorry for...me for leading my boring life, or the gov't idiot who would be chosen to watch me live my boring life.
