Default Hey, You Gun Nuts ...

The FBI says that since November more than seven million people applied for criminal background checks in order to buy weapons, a figure excluding the many more buying at thousands of gun shows in states such as Virginia, without facing any checks.

I heard on the radio yesterday that Dept of Homeland Security is a little concerned about the influx in gun ownership and popularity of Tea Parties. I guess they looking down the road at what that could potentially lead to.

Anyway, with 7-million new guns being sold since Nov, that means for every 30-people in the US, including men, women, and children, for every 30-people, a minimum of one new gun was sold into private hands.

People are starting to wake up, thats all. And you do get a background check at VA gun shows if you are buying from a dealer. People (non dealers) are alowed to walk around the gun shows with a for sale sign on their guns and try to sell them hense no background check.

I think I kinda distorted your ratio.

Good time to buy. Even though the prices on some of the "Homeland Defense Weapons" are up the prices on a lot of others are down. Picked up a pre-lock S&W this weekend cheaper than I have seen them in quite a while. It's also having a big effect on ammo availability and prices.

If they all join the NRA or their local pro gun group and VOTE for pro gun candidates only perhaps this screwed up country can be spun around.

I personally am not buying much with the inflated prices. I'll wait for all the spec buyers to blow their wads.

Hey Mist, are you seeing inflated prices on everything or just certain guns? Around here it seems that the more "bland" guns like wheel guns, shotguns, etc are actually quite reasonable. People are either needing money or trying to sell them to "upgrade" to the guns they think might be endangered species.

I believe its our right to buy and have arms..... Lets see what happened in November that may have spurred this Hmmm... Yes, I have bought at least one since then and plenty of ammo as the whispers of new gun legislation and an unfair ammo tax have fueled many more than me...

more guns in the good guys hands means less bad guys alive. The ratio needs to be 1 to 1...

I am banking that there are no changes to be made. Then when all the "non shooting folk" who ran out to buy pricey AR's with the Obama scare see this idle money sitting in the closet they decide to dump them and flood the market lowering the prices. Hell, I bought my AR in 2003 new for $899 and now the MSRP is $1300 and change. I should have bought a dozen;?

Here in CT handgun prices seem to have not changed.

WE should start a reloading campaign with all the new gun owners we need to take the cost out of factory loads. Being a past pres. of a gun club in the past year membership has doubled and still be a dierctor we all need help the basics is safty.I see this trend as good all over the US. SO sign up to the NRA local club and go shoot at an appleseed gun course may all your shots be in the ten ring!!
