Default buying a gm.. Am I crazy?

Thinking about buying the GM traverse.(similar to GMC Acadia) Seems like the perfect car for my needs. But June 1 might be the bankruptcy date! Would I get a better deal if they went bankrupt?

Just bought one including the extended warranty. Paid close to retail just to show how patriotic I am

Since GM is selling less cars, their marketing strategy is to raise prices each month to increase revenue ! I "saved" money since I bought one produced 3 months ago. So I have that going for me

They aren't going anywhere. My dealer (that I do alot of business with) is a top 10 dealer also isn't going anywhere either

Will likely buy the new 2010 Equinox when available

btw - So far the Admiral really likes the Traverse. The only thing I'm not thrilled with is the Nav system.

Tried one of those out along with it's cousin the GMC Acadia.
Wound up buying a Toyota Highlander. It seemed much tighter and after putting 265,000 miles on the Land Cruiser with very minimal problems it seemed like the thing to do. Price was very comparable on the Highlander Limited and the decked out Acadia. The Chev may be less coin.

Not to mention its other in-bred cousins, the Saturn Outlook and the Buick Enclave.

GM... Badge engineering at its finest!

Good luck!

i bought a GM last year...first GM i've ever owned...a caddy SRX...it was off-lease with only 25K miles. i'm not overly impressed after 16 months of use. the suspension is just awful...the ride deteriorated pretty fast once it hit about 40K miles...feels like you're riding on a trampoline...not exactly what i expected from a "luxury sport cross-over" vehicle.

i'm going back to ford if i buy american again.

I won't touch one, nor will I buy another Dodge or any other product from a bailee. My only way of voicing my disgust is to vote with my wallet.

So WHO is responsible for the shape the U.S. auto manufacturers are in today??

Step right up, and take your pick! The unions? The management? The Democrats? The Republicans? The people who actually BOUGHT those vehicles? The Japanese? The Canadians? The Mexicans? Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer cherce.

Who is responsible? The management that signed off on cars that fell apart and bored you to death. Walk in to a Chevy dealer and tell me what they have that is exciting other than the Vette. The only place you see a GM sedan is in rental car fleets. Their cars have improved over time, but even Hyundai can offer a 10 year warranty and they are not going broke as fast as GM. Where's the Aztec design crew today?
