Those British bands that came after "the invasion" were just amazing. I was in high school in Britain 69-76, a perfect time to enjoy Zep, Pink Floyd and then the early days of Punk with the Pistols and The Clash.

Sad to say, apart from a track or two, maybe an album here and there, I don't enjoy it anywhere as much as I did as a teenager!

Something that often gets overlooked about the British invasion of music is how unique all of the bands were. No one confuses The Beatles for the Rolling Stones, for Roxy Music, for the Moody Blues. Pink Floyd was never mistaken for the Yardbirds, which was never mistaken for the Animals, the Zombies, or Led Zeppelin. They all had a unique sound to their music.

Today, so much of pop music is similar, makes it difficult to distinguish a band. The songs are different but so many bands produce music that have the same texture, same ambiance -- they could all be from the same band.

There is no separate junior and senior high in Britain. You go to high school when you are 12 and leave at 18 (mostly!!)
