Default He is Risen - alleluiah

Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. This is the stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Have a blessed Easter.

Yes, it is the Paschal Greeting.

My brother, one down from me, is named Paschal. And a more Christian, generous man it would be hard to find. The name fits very well.

Hey Chief, here's a history lesson for you ... two actually. First Jesus wasn't crucified in Italy, or Rome for that matter, but you are correct that the Vatican is located in Rome. Second the Catholic Church wasn't established at the time of his cruxifiction.

In one sentence you say keep the "crap" to yourself, in another go ahead and post, yet you want to discuss logic? Hmmm....

You did start it ... Menzies posted a beautiful greeting, that's all. I served to protect not only your right to say whatever you wish, but Menzie's as well. That having been said... stop the crap. But I know you can't resist, so go ahead with your rant. I promise you there is nothing you can so or do that scares me. My Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is a loving God and preaches tolerance. I'm trying, but I'm waiting...

Isn't the response to your greeting supposed to be "Indeed He has Risen"?

In any case, Happy Easter.

Now thats a greeting. Thats how i always heard it and read it.

Isn't that what most post and say on the streets. But to say your going to go to hell is you don't believe, how is that different from the nuts who kill cause you don't believe in Allah.

More people have been killed in the name of g-d that any other. So if you do onto others as you would have them do onto you, even if your not of a certain faith i won't go to heaven ?

Then to post that the Israelites, killed him is a blatant hate mongering statement. Something worthy of Mel Gibson.

What in actually If i understand the writing of what Jesus says, that he believed in doing good, and being good. and not to covert your neighbors wife and property,

One last thing, cause i don't feel i have to defend myself in regards of having different beliefs, is you can believe in anything you want, and allow me to believe in anything i want, and i will still be the first one over if you need a hand, if your barn burns down i'll be the first one over to help rebuild it.

But the hate mongering got to stop, spewing that bull, here where i can read it or say it on the street where i can hear it i will respond.

I still believe this thread has no business here. Latter for the bilge this one should be wiped period.

Yep, and he should have stopped when he was behind.

We went to Chimney Rock, NC for their annual sunrise service and tossed off atheists to get things started. Maybe you should attend the next one chief.

No, the Vatican is NOT located in Rome. Rome would be in Italy; the Vatican is not in Italy.

The Vatican is located in Holy See (aka Vatican City); the worlds smallest country surrounded entirely by Roma, Italy.

Everything a tourist needs to know about Holy See, from the CIA's World Factbook:

Vatican City is a sovereign city state and existed prior to the existance of the country of italy.

This is part of a column in our local newspaper.

Believers get resurrection, too
By Karen Spears Zacharias
Iíll admit to treading in deep waters, into matters way over my head. To be quite honest, that usually occurs for me before I reach the edge of the 4-foot section of the pool.
But this Easter season has me pondering this matter of Christ Risen.
Having grown up in the Bible Belt and having consumed the Word of God on a daily basis for much of my life, I am unashamedly a believer.
I canít explain the virgin birth, the crucifixion or the transfiguration but I believe in it all with my whole heart, mind and soul.
I canít explain how it is I know my dog loves me, either, but I know he does. I can see it in his eyes in much the same fashion as I see Godís love in the vibrant stroke of the redbud blooming or the dogwood bursting.
I see evidence of a seductive God in the plop of a tangerine sun into the lavender waters of Mobile Bay, Ala., and the shadowed light streaking across the red clay monuments of Sedona, Ariz.
If there isnít a creator behind all the awestruck wonder of this world, then Iím content to be the damned fool who believes there is one anyway.
All the cynics among you are welcome to leave me to my ignorant ways and let me utter praise to a God who I happen to believe just might be responsible for all the glories of this good earth.
If death proves me wrong, well, what has that cost me? A life lived in gratitude and a belief that the world doesnít rotate routinely for my benefit alone?
A theology that compels me to think first of others and their welfare and admonishes me to try and live in harmony, even with people I donít like very much?

No matter whether you believe or not there is something inside all of us that make "belief" an issue. Some will fight and kill because of it and others will go to far away places to help others because of their belief. 16 members of our church left this morning to join others in Uganda. I'm too selfish to do that. You don't have to believe that Jesus died for your mess ups but He did.
