Default Talk about feeling old - sheesh!

Our 14 year old daughter has to do a musical skit at school with her group. We went to the Happy Days musical a month or so ago so I suggested she do a skit to the the theme song. I said she could even set it up so that one of the boys walks over and smacks a jukebox to start the music like the Fonz used to do.

So she writes that up. When she read it back to me she said juice box!

I told her that it wasn't a juice box.

Her 21 year old sister was sitting nearby and told her that it was a Jute Box.

I threw my hands up and left the room!

Yep. Remember the 24 hour diners that use to have one in every booth!

Went to Sonic for the very first time with my 19 year old. Sat at a table with a phone to call the order in. I mentioned how they used to have small juke boxes on the wall so you could pick a song and listen while you ate your food. "What's that?" he says...

There's a great stainless steel diner in NC, Mel's Place, that is everything a 24/7 diner was from the early days...and the food is A+.

Default 21 year old

I have a 21 year old also plus a 16, 14, 11, 4 total. The 11 year old is a girl also, middle ones boys.

The 21 year old is a girl, and sucks the common sense right out of my head.

I deal with her as little as i can, leave the girls to my wife.

The boys are easy, the oldest boy is a deer slayer, and the 14 year old is a fishing machine, loves boats and fishing no bad weather or waves bother him, and would spend every day and night on the water. He never wants to come in.

One of my friends put a new wallpaper background on his computer monitor. He choose the old indian head test pattern that used to be on the old black and white TV's. Took him a while to explain it to the younger guys in the office. Remember the days before 24/7 television?

My son (13) & I were in the truck and I saw a 56 chevy and pointed it out to him,
" hey look at that old car" and he said
" Dad thats an old one must be from the 1970's"

Rick Springfield was on the Huckabee show last night. He and Huckabee played an acoustic "Jessie's Girl". He sounded better then ever.

Hell, I remember the days when we had channels 2, 4 and 5 in New York City -- and that was IT.

Must be from the pre-Neanderthal period...NYC has always had 2,4,5,7,9,11, & 13 until cable came along...

I remember when we didn't have school buses. I had to walk 5 miles to school each way, in the snow, up hill both ways.

Nothing is ever "always."

Channel 2 was CBS, Channel 4 was NBC, and Channel 5 was WABD (named for Allen B. DuMont, founded in 1938, and on the air in 1944) See: http://www.dumonthistory.tv/2.html

I was at guitar lessons last Wednesday and was learning some "Filter" stuff - "Hey Man Nice Shot" & "Dose" - nasty themes and/or lyrics, but I learn it for the MUSIC!

I made the comment to my teach that my son (turned 32 last week and took lessons about 15 years ago at the SAME place!) REALLY likes the 60's & 70's music now - that I grew up with ...

... and NOW, I'm trying to learn how to play the "crap" I use to get after HIM for listening to????????????????????????? ;?

Makes me feel YOUNG, again!

Regards,
