Default Free AntiVirus Software??

Norton expires on my new computer in a day or two. I read a lot about the free ones available on the web.

Can someone please direct be toward it. Norton wants nearly $60/year to resubscribe.

AntiVir

You can find it's download though a google search

But first un-install norton.

Been using AntiVir for years on multiple computers and have had no problems.

On new computers before registering Norton, I un-install it and run Anti-vir.

Most of the systems are behind, at the very minimum, a router firewall and windows firewall which all combined including AntiVir provides excellent security for most home/small business networks.

AntiVir automatically downloads updates daily and you can perform system scans on demand. Amazing what it does for free.

try downloads.com

AVG is a good one. There is a free version.

Getting rid of Norton will be the best thing you do for your computing experience.
