Default The Price Of Ammo

Is it me or has the price of ammo gone through the roof? I can empty the 6 round clip in my .380 in about 2 seconds, theres $2 blown away! Even .22 LR bullets are no longer "cheap". WTF!

I was at the Eastman's gun show this weekend in Savannah, GA and they had a limit on certain calibers as to the amount you could purchase. On a 380 it was a 100 rounds. The gentlemen selling the ammo, said after Saturday's rush they had to get another truck load down to restock for Sunday.

So basically they are going to put a limit on the amount you can purchase at a time?

Also, sorry for a duplicate thread. I see now another discussion going on here about the same issue.

It's not just you. Last year I picked up a brick of 550 rounds of 22LR at Walmart for $8.67. Last weekend it was $16 and change.

I thought the price of metals (copper, lead) have come way down since last year,

I started other tread... Went to WM in PA, had luck- got few bricks of coated 22lr, federals -$14. Dicks had some 44 mag and 223, but i got plenty and plenty to reload. Some mom-pop shops f'n ripoff- cheapo 22, not coated- $20 and up- Fok'm. Hope we don't have to bail them out down the road...I won't be shopping there....

no, there is an idea to serialize every round of ammo. The guy that developed the technology is also the main lobby push towards getting it enacted. Essentially they would make ammo so expensive you could not afford it. They more than likely would not be able to reenact the brady bill, so their plan is not to go after the guns, go after the ammo. And part of the provision would be to outlaw all reloading as well.

I was reading something a couple of days ago, someone from a major (un-named) ammo manfrg company said in Sept 2008 that .223 will not be available to the public because it is all being bought by the military.

Yup, you wanna know the reason why ammunition has gotten so expensive? Its whacked out rumours like that one spread over the internet to people who need to believe in such things. Somebody's making an awful lot of money off of this mess.
