Default Can anyone tell me where the money is made?

me like most people shop the internet buying parts and things for the boat etc...we all use all the websites like craigs list to search for our items etc... and also the other website corkin.com.....which i think and this website....is the three largest websites to post marine items for free and millions of users ,use these..ive always been curiious....where does the funding come from for THE CRAIGSLIST ADDS..CORKIN.COM AND THE FREE ADDS YOU CAN PLACE HERE....im not complainong at all..i think its great..just wondering how they support there websites if its free and since we have so many awesome memebers here..someone else is bound to know the answer to this...just curious

I believe the seller pays a fee tosell and possibly list the item.

Default thanks for reply

i looiked further into this...there is no fee at all to sell on those sites.....however after a lot of research and calls and general questions and blogs here is what is happening.....some of the websites have a flagging feature on there, which noone likes....so i investigated it.......heres the theory..i sell sailboats,,trucks, houses for example....you sell sailboats, trucks, houses, cars and boats....you go the the flaggin button .....you get the other guys add kicked off the internet just because you can...well there is other websites coming about to make that go away....such as corkin.com etc....i buy nhra drag cars die cast on the net and im just shocked at how many free places there are to sell items, but always wanted to know, how they support the website.....i can see the THT HAS AWESOME companies to back it up..the quality of the website and the quality of the people who use this site...can only be called world classed...thank you for your response........

All craigslist postings are free, except for:

1. Job posts in the San Francisco Bay Area
  • The fee for posting a job in the SF Bay Area is $75. This fee pays for one job in one category.
(One job posted in two different categories would cost $150.)
2. Job posts in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle, South Florida, and Washington DC
  • The fee for posting a job in these cities is $25. This fee pays for one job in one category.
(One job posted in two different categories would cost $50.)
3. Brokered apartment rental listings in New York
  • The fee for posting a brokered apartment rental in New York City is $10.
4. Erotic services posts on craigslist sites in the United States.
  • The fee for posting ads in the erotic services category is $5.
There are two options for purchasing paid posts:
Bottom line commerical ads pay for private sellers.

Not 100% sure about your website your promoting.
