Default I have to ask...Eyeball- do you even have a boat

So its midnight here on the west coast and I am sitting with my ankle raised from surgery today and while I know this is somewhat the percocet talking I have a Q I must ask.

Eyeball do you even own a boat?

You post a ton of negative political and economic information here and while your info is accurate and you obviously are a intelligent person I Q why you cut and paste so much doom and gloom.

With all this information that you sift through on the internet is it part of your job? Do you profit from this knowledge by trading the markets? I hope so because if you just sit in a recliner and try to convince us all how bad it is and is going to get that seems like a waste and is am at a loss as to why you want to convince us how America is continuing the path into a severed recession.

We all know this and while times are extremely bad right now across the entire economy it will improve and in 5 years things will look much different than it does today. The markets will be more transparent and I feel optimistic about the next decade.

I am not trying to be rude or post this as a bash I just wish to know what your motive is in passing along so much negative and one sided information. I know I would not normally be this brash but I am on percocet for the pain and this is something I have wondered to myself about your posts over the last few months. Again I don't dispute the accuracy of information just the intent of posting it all the time on this forum.

Sorry for the rant.

Na, while its a valid question and one many have wondered. I doubt he will respond. I picture Eyeball as more the guy sitting in his trailer, foil on the windows with one he!! of a computer set up, a cooler full of beer, a no sun tan at all. I almost forgot the required foil hat...

Perhaps just an eyeball preserved in a jar sitting on a mad scientist's shelf somewhere!

Why is this question relevant? I imagine there are quite a few folks here that don't currently own a boat.

PSW, I'm confused? Were you after knowing if Joe had a boat or were you after singling him out because of his comments/ views? The later would appear to be the case. I know of many around here that do not have a boat, some that have never owned a boat and many that are between boats. Proof of ownership is not a prerequisite for being a member here on this forum.

IMO these are dark times we are living in. It is of my opinion all Joe is doing is talking about current events and without his views and comments this site would be deader then it already is.

Cracker, it must be a scary place out there for you knowing most do not think like you and yet many act like you.

The internet has greatly enhanced our ability to find and disseminate information. I seldom read the paper anymore..ALL printed matter is BS.

Personally, I find it comforting to find that there are others with my often skewed perspective. I appreciate Eyeballs posts. He points out the obvious to many who have terminal cranial-anal insertion.

Owning a boat is a non-issue. Frankly, there are alot of boat owners here who should NOT be giving advice.

Like I said I am not trying to stir the pot. Not sure why I even care but after working all day in the lovely financial services industry ( I work main st not wall st) I come home and whenever I read THT there is him cutting and pasting doom and gloom and nothing else. Do a little search. All Dockside chat and all about the end that is coming. So I guess after the pain meds kicked in I decided to ask the Q, that I know is uncalled for, do you even own a boat.

If the answer is NO, OK, thats fine. Just don't see why a non boater would come to a boating forum and spread negative seniment 99% of the time. I enjoy reading Tireless and joewne and others discuss thier political and economic feelings. It is refreshing and candid. But it is from a boater's perspective with whom I know is on here to with good intentions and not to troll pessimism about all things dockside. I just hope he benefits from his theories which for the last 18 months would have saved the rest of us quite a few dollars or in his case made quite a few bucks.

Like I state earlier I am just pointing something out we have all wondered and not trying to bash just wondering what the deal is. By all means you don't need to own a boat to be a valuable part of the site but most atleast occasionally discuss boating related topics.

Whats really scary is that its obvious you think very little.. But where you and I differ greatly is that instead of just bitchin I actually take stand everyday to protect people's rights and believe in the Rights of the people which includes everyone's right of freedom of speech.... I actually have no ill will toward Eyeball just dont agree with him alot, so go pass judgement on someone else...

Threads like this really crack me up. Y'all realize this is a "forum" where many "opinions" are posted. If you don't understand that "opinions" are not set facts and are not consistent among all people then maybe a "forum" is not somewhere for you to visit. In fact this is the "internet" and it is full of "forums" that have lots of "opinions" which means maybe the "internet" is not a place for those who overreact to "opinions" to be at all.
Eyeball and I are pretty much polar opposite on the "opinions" scale so I in turn do not overreact to his "opinions"

I don't know of anyone that oppose leos fulfilling their obligation to protect and defend. It is generally all of the other things that leos do that garner the ill will of the general public. But knit picking here, the freedom of speech (1st Amendment) is specifically ment to keep the government from trampling on the citizens and as an leo, you are part of that government.

Actually as a LEO I cant tell you the number of times I have had to protect people's right for freedom to speech.. Whether it be boycotting a business or protests or whatever... Dont think just because I am LEO I blindly follow "the man." I agree with that not all govt ideas and programs are good but not all of them are bad either... Part of the ill will comes from a very very small percentage of LEO doing something wrong or stupid and part of the ill will comes from some citizens that plain dont understand some of the issues that are particular to doing police work... I relize ur not picking, no problem...

It has also greatly increased the amount of misinformation that is available.
