Default Cabo trip tips

Headed to Cabo on Sunday for my honeymoon. Any last minute words of advice or recs on where to go? We've got little side trips/activities set aside for each day including a couple fishing trips. We're not huge fans of tourist traps or clubbing but we're not raging hippies either (i.e. don't spend a year in the rain forest hugging trees and smoking ganja while avoiding human contact at all costs). Thanks in advance.

Congrats on the honeymoon thing!!!

Cabo IS a tourist trap -- like Disneyland, it wouldn't exist except for tourists. Go, have fun, enjoy the whole touristy thing.

I think the tip of Baja Calif is still safe. I would not venture north of La Paz, tho. Right now Mexico is a huge safety risk. Just heard on the radio news that Tijuana is now the most dangerous city on the planet, other smaller border towns are experiencing average 6 murders a day.

Take a ride up the Pacific to Todos Santos, horserides on the beach, atvs, Cabo Wabo, mall at the marina, marlin fishing, say no timeshares, tell the annoying peddlers on the beach to stay away etc...

Congrats guys,, Cabo is anything you want it to be.. Fishing to fine dinning.. Was there for my 50th and had a ball in places like Squid Row and Cabo Wabo, ended up with a tatoo in that place.. We did find the dune buggies to a real blast ,so if you feel like going fast in the sand I recommend you go.. When you walk around the town you will see a dune buggy parked outside the office,, just walk in and book it...

Have fun

I Honeymooned there for 10 days in 1995....We stayed at the Solmar.......We did three days of marlin fishing. one day of horseback riding a day of shopping and the rest of the days just relaxing at the beach / pool. The food was far from gourmet at everyplace we ate. We had a favorable exchange rate back then so stuff was cheap. The ride from the airport in a taxi was adventurous to say the least. Lots of little kids pestering you to but candy from them at every corner....We were there in October and it was hot as hell! It was a nice trip all in all but I would have chosen an island in the Caribbean given a second chance.........

Been there 4 or 5 times. The Todo Santos trip is well worth your time. Great drive up the coast and tons of little shops when you get there. It is not the hassle that Cabo is.

I learned when in Cabo do not put your hand out to stop the street vendors. The reason is they will have 5 to 7 pieces of jewelry on your arm before you know it. I purchased some leather goods in the flea market near the Hard Rock. Bargain hard and enjoy the great leather products. My wife and I spent our 25 aniv. near Los Cabos and went there and bought two silver rings. The silver is a good quality. I also found driving in Cabo is interesting. I normally park my car in the Pharmacy lot across from the Hard Rock and walk around from there. If you enjoy drinking the Giggling Marlin and Cabo Wabo are jumping. My personal favorite is go to Los Barriles and charter a boat for fishing. It is about an hours drive from Cabo.

If you can find the place that has glass blowing it is fun to visit and watch these men make beautiful glass objects. It is on the left as you head toward Cabo San Jose just past the RR tracks I think. Maybe someone can help with that one. Enjoy your honeymoon.

if you do the todos santos trip watch for the place on the beach side called art and beer. When you see it stop and have the worlds best bloodys, the owner serves them to you and it is a great place you will enjoy it. dont drink to many long way back to cabo!
