I've been getting daily call from a (386)538-7516, they ring 2 or 3 times and they hang up, if I answer they automatically hang up... it's very anoying... does anybody know how to find out who's calling me????

I tried to google it, and found people with the same problems but no clue about who could it be....

There are some free Reverse Lookup sites out there. Give it a try and google Reverse Lookup.

I like the "fax back" approach. Set your machine to redial...infinite. Place a sheet in and hit send. If you'd like we could all syncronize our fax machines and hit him at 0500 tomorrow in mass.

Just received a call from that number. A foreign sounded gentleman asked for me by name. When I responded "speaking", he hung up. I googled the number and found nothing. I tried to call the number back and it stated the number was not in service.

We get this one 2-3x/week about "your auto warranty...": 386-427-6893 New Smyrna Beach FL

When I tried to call it it says "not in service for incoming calls". I reported it on the www.donot.gov list of unsolicited callers.

There is a why to mask a phone's caller ID. That's how these guys are getting around being ratted out to the govt, you are not reporting a valid phone called you.

Eyeball is right - someone is masking the # so you really don't know the originating #.

Whenever I try to look up and or Google a phone number, all I come up with are pay sites which require a payment or subscription. Do you subscribe too one of the pay sites?, or if not how do you find the information you posted? ;?

I'm too cheap to subscribe to anything -- except THT.

I use "Whitepages" too, to look up numbers. Check with your local phone company on how to block a number with your service.

There are several technically based scams out there involving voice-mail and message hi-jacking (similiar to trojan horse) so check your phone bill carefully.

Also, there are some cell services that bill the in-caller. So far I've only heard of this feature in Colorado not Florida but your service provider can probably tell if you've placed any pay call services or third party billing services lately.

Good luck!

My girlfriend gets the auto warranty calls too.

Wasnt there a scam a while back that was essentialy a "900" number and they tricked you into calling. They then charged your phone bill for $100 a minute or something. I thought this was an over seas number and you coulndt do anything about it.

Of course this is probably and urban legend--- shoulda Snopes is before I typed it..
