Default St. Joseph's Feast ! Talk about Pasta!

I was invited to take "pics" for an Italian tradition. Though I'm not Italian I felt as if I was for the day. Everyone in the family and I mean everyone makes pasta. There's nothing like homemade pasta ! When the table is full of drying pasta....five other layers go on! Now I know what they use garages for!

Nice pix, reminds me of when I was a kid, all of the Italians piling into one house for a Sunday "meal" -- that lasted for hours and hours and ended with everyone stuffed to the gills and dying from pasta over dosing.

I remember the women doing all of the cooking, all day long. The men sat around in pants held up by suspenders and fedora hats, drinking red wine poured from 1-gal jugs and smoking cigars -- probably planning a bank robbery or heist or something. Yeah, they really were... Somewhere during the day, the women cleaned up. Ahh, back when 'men' were men and 'women' were women.

A great movie about sociopathic Italian cooking called 'Big Night'. Worth watching.

Btw, you have a bunch of nice pix of boating stuff on your blog, too.

I know what you mean! My MIL is from a town just outside of Rome called Ausonia. I have to prep myself for two weeks prior to Easter and Thanksgiving. It's crazy!
Italians are such "pushers", too, when it comes to food!!

You guys ain't kidding,I'm still stuffed! It was amazing, all that pasta made then cooked all with in 3 hours! All the men did the heavy work by building up the dough. Then as the women processed it in the pasta machines the men would flour up the table cloths and spread it out for drying. Once one table was full out comes a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood propped up on 2 x 4 blocks and on and on until it was 6 high!
They did a good job trying to turn me into an Italian! The photos I'm taking is going to be for a couple of major food magazines.
