Unhappy Horse meat?

It never ends, nothing but bad news on the news. Appearently there is a string of horse thefts going on down here in SE Florida. They are being stolen and killed for their meat.

One owner reported her horse missing a couple weeks ago, they showed a picture. It was a beautiful horse they kept as a pet. The poor lady gets a call from the police to come identify the remains.

She arrives to a field about a mile from her house to see nothing but bones and a head. It was definatly her horse. They said it looks like the horse was tied to the tree and butchered alive.

WTF???? How can people do this and sleep at night?

I remember something like that happening in SOFLA in the 1990's when I was living their...seems some Marielitos were rustling some horses, cows, and pigs, and butchering them for meat....I thought only the French ate horse meat, but apparently Cubans like it too.

When people get hungry bad things can happen. Whoever did this could have mugged/killed someone for money to buy food. Unfortunately this is only the beginning and why people are stocking up on ammo. I know I would do whatever was necessary to feed my family. We don't eat horse so I'm not sure what my course of action would be, but welfare and soup lines would be before stealing and killing. I sure hope the messiah can come up with something that actually works before the whole country goes to he!! in a handbasket.

Don't mexicans eat dog meat? Keep pets close

For what it is worth Horse Meat was the main staple food for Grayhounds on the race track, it must be packaged with charcoal to prevent it from going for human consumption...

Legal and legit business in Fl.

I think if you try hard enough, you can blame your Erectile Dysfunction on BO as well... why not stay on topic for a change... we're talking bizarre horse killings in Florida in case you missed.... 4 legs, run fast, eats carrots and beer....

Sick is all I can say... my girlfriend is a sports therapist for thoroughbreds, she has seen some sick things that people will do, I don't know how they sleep at night either...

It is eaten in Europe at nice restaurants. There are horse slaughter houses in the US that export horse meat there.

In regards to the original post. I call bs on the statement that it was slaughtered alive. There is no way you are going to cut into an animal that size without it going apeshiat. I suspect they stuck it in the neck to bleed it out first which can be quit messy.

I hope someone had a good meal.

Didn't Nancy Pelosi sponsor a bill to outlaw horse slaughter in the US?

I am not sure if it was her but one of the moroons on the hill did. If I remember correctly they passed a bill forbidding USDA aphis from issuing export certificates. I think the plants simply got permission from importing nations to export without permit. If they are shut down they will simply move to Mexico and ship the horses across the border.

I hope these guys get caught and severely punished for the cruelty that they brought upon the animals and their owners.

I don't think anyones pet or livestock should be stolen. But I do find it amusing that so often we try to place our values on other cultures and look down on theirs. The reality is that they are not so different from us.

We can eat cows, pigs, sheep, rabbit, deer, moose, elk, chicken, turkey, quail, snails, frogs, snakes, alligators, fish, oysters, clams, and lobsters. All kinds of animals, furred or feathered, slippery or slimy, but we draw the line at horses?

Good idea, you could pick the use the spent bullet jackets for their copper and add it to your bottom paint. The lead could be used to make sinkers, and the spent brass for casting a new ships bell.
