Default 2008 Infinity M35S

Anybody have one here on THT? Currently looking at a used 08' M35s with 4,400 miles on it. Priced at 34k dealer, my homework says 29-30k would get the keys in my hand.

Anything you don't like about the M35s?
My plans for a 04' Vette Z06 and a 06' BMW M3 have been shot down in flames by the wife.

Retiring Naples fastest car, my white 2002 Honda Civic EX with 110,000 miles. Nothing wrong with the Civic, just my wife wants some bling to drive. She deserves it.
If anyone want a 2002 Civic that has been maintained by a fanatic (me)....for $7,000.00. I will throw in a brand new paint job (value $4,000.00) on it. The 02 Civic is a 9.5 out of 10 now but new paint would make it a 10+.

Current market value on the Civic is 8k.

At that price (if it clears Car Fax) I'd be all over that ride. I'd dump my 08 TL in the garage right now.

In the end I think you'll be thanking your wife.

Please read this at your leisure: http://www.carfax.com/cfm/legal_disclaimer.cfm

I've been in the car business since age 18, I wish I had invented Carfax. Easy money, not worth the paper it's printed on.

If you'd like to waste some serious cash, I'll give you 100+ VIN's with damage over 15k and let you run them through Carfax.

Three V's has an M45, if that helps.
As for Naples' fastest car, you obviously haven't met Scotty Kreihling (Kreihling Concrete)

If he's over 65 and drives a Lincoln, Buick or Cadillac in Naples my bet is the Civic could take him.

The "M" rides a LOT quieter than our G35 (which we are very satisfied with other than the road noise). A friends G35 got new Michelins instead of the factory Bridgestones and it's a lot quieter.

My wife has an M-35. It has been a great ride; she traded her G-35 for the M, and it is a significant upgrade. Her car has the heated and cooled front seats, which are great in summer. She didn't want the nav system, but a friend at work has one with the nav system and back-up camera, which really do work well.

The car has been very reliable, and is comfortable either around town or on the road. Very good seats, great brakes, excellent headlights (that turn with the steering wheel), decent rear seats, pretty good trunk. I would not hesitate to get another one. In my opinion, the difference between the M 35 and the M 45 does not justify the price differential.

My BIL who has passed was heavy into autos as was his family. When they started (carfax) I was lead to believe that they were stand up. I guess good things don't last forever. I can say that our Ford Explorer worked out just as advertized with them and the title proved it or many people were into fraud. The truck has never skipped a beat and is still owned by us.

That behind us I loved the M's and at that price my ass would be owning it outright if it has not been crashed or ???. I'm quite sure a very good friend of over 30 years (body shop owner) could gather any more info I needed.
In this state you can't buy any parts w/o a valid VIN and everything is recorded.

Also being involved with cars, I can tell you the 3 series BMW would be the last thing in the stable. The Vette is what it is.

Funny that you say that about Carfax, I personally think its a fraud. Several years ago on a car forum, a member offered to run anyones car on carfax. Someone had bought there car totalled and fixed it up, it came up on carfax as never being in an accident. Actually if I remember correctly out of about 25 cars checked, everyone came up clean!

You should be able to get a great price on the M35, the dealers are dieing to move cars. Good Luck!

I've got a 07 G35 Journey. It's a very nice car but the mileage sucks. I avg around 17mpg in my normal driving and 21mpg on the interstate. I think the crappy interstate mileage is a result of the 5-speed tranny/rear axle ratios. At 80MPH it's turning 3300 RPM. At least Infiniti finally got rid of the 5-speed and went to a 7 speed transmission in the 09 G37.

My wife has a new Lexus IS 250 with 6 speed transmission. I average 30 mpg when driving it in the interstate.

I have an I35 and love it. No major problems. Great service. The M35 is a nice car. Before we got my wife's small SUV, we looked at those. back then, they just came out and were overpriced and dealer would not come down. At that price, I'd do it. Excellent interior quality. Great engine. I think the Nisan 3.5 v6 has been one of the top best 10 engiens for something like 15 years. My '02 in the I put out about 256 hp when new. I think they have tweaked it recently to get well over 300 hp. the car moves.

I nearly totalled my 350Z back a few years. got it fixed and went to trade it - disclosed the wreck to the dealer. CARFAX never showed anytthing on it despite over 10k in repairs.

I like the M's....Wife has an FX now that we have owned for several years. No Complaints.

Carfax does what they advertise in their disclaimer, nothing wrong with that. Problem is the disclaimer basically says the report they issue is worthless and you can't hold them liable for anything.

Hey...idea, Boatfax.com. (dang...googled it and whamo, someone beat me too it.)

And their disclaimer is interesting too.
