After over 100 choices of state landmarks Gloucester's Fishermens Memorial was chosen to grace the next state quarter!

Very nice . Good choice.

CT is probably going to use a picture of Coach Calhoun with the motto - NOT ONE DIME

I did a little tribute to the statue with some history thrown in.

Great pic.

Enjoyed the quarters and looking at what each state chose.

My old line is Via Mass and RI.

But we fought across a different line back in '65.

Hey brother, nows the time to get our act togther or we might just fight again.

I'll be sure to have the wife look out for a roll of them to hold onto. She's in banking, for now at least.

The govenor's office wasn't too sure on the mint date, perhaps 2010 they are assuming.
BTW.....Out of towners sometimes refer to the statue as "the Gorton's Fisherman". In fact the Gorton's logo is actually older ! Some may remember a Bewitched episode when the "Man" was made real with witchcraft. If you ever see that episode again,if you see a 13' Whaler in the harbor..... that was me!
