It will be interesting to see how this pans out. GE has the Smart Grid tech which is something we will move towards when we stop hemorraging money to prop up failing companies and banks.

Will there be a spin off company to bring the Smart Grid to the market if GE fails? If so, be on the lookout.

littletunny...I want to live there, where is it? I don't care if I have to be the janitor.

They did cut their dividend to $.10 from .31.

I took another position in them just a few minutes ago at just under $6.90. No matter what, the share price will go back up as GE is big and into much more than lending.

They will make a bunch off the turbine business if they can get rid of GE Capital and the appliance business.

Gosh guys. I do not have a clue what could possibly bring us out of this depression. We do not make stuff anymore....and the companies that still do do not succeed.
I am planting lots of food...lol.

No one has a clue how to do it, least of all our congress critters or Obama. But it is not their fault they are clueless, no one on the globe as clue how to recover from this AND keep capitalism alive.

They'll be illegal everywhere by 2014 and the compact fluorescents are only "Made in China".

Great CFL rant!

I'd start by getting rid of NAFTA. IMHO it was the beginning of what we are now living with.

I read an article about the billions in short positions currently held.

If the Obama-Geitner "dream-team" could figure out a way to spur a small recovery amid all their wasteful spending, most of these positions would be covered and we'd see a ripple effect through the markets.

Is it really that difficult to stop creating more programs and try to fix what will generate funding for them? Maybe I'm not short sighted enough.
