Default Plasma TV question

My brother has had a 42" plasma for about 4-5 years. He is starting to have problems now on start-up. He says that it clears up after about 5 minutes and then does not have the problem again until next start-up. Any ideas? Here's what the screen looks like:

I can't be sure from the pic you posted but it looks like your bros plasma might be in need of repair.

Boy that can't be any good. Is there any warranty left?

No, warranty has expired. My guess is that soon it will not clear up after a few minutes and that it is on it's last leg. Just wanted to see if anyone had similar problems and what if any was the fix.

A plasma is made from a power supply, video input, video processing(x2), and the display panel.
