KK here, probably buy 30 dozen a week (for customers). I can't help but to dig into one of the dozen myself.

Well said hydro! I bet you put peanuts in your coke too.
Damn Bill, you just took me back to my childhood in SW Virginia. Stop in, grab a coke (you know the tall glass bottle one with the opener on the side of the cooler) and grab a small bag of salted peanuts. Dump in and enjoy....

Shipley's vanilla-cream filled with a chocolate milk is my favorite all-time. I used to ride with my cousin sometimes when he was a cop & it's true, cops eat a lot of donuts. I've seen one xxxxl cop get a whole gallon of milk to go with his donuts.
Salted peanuts in a coke brings back memories of my childhood also.

didja bet on the location on the bottom of the bottle? Closest location buys the cokes..

Had a buddy who rigged his coke machine. All the bottles from Macon (20 miles) were in one slot. Everything else in another. Guess who won every time?

KK is so good Yahoo says they'll be out of business soon.

Krispy Kreme. (KKD; about 4,000 employees; stock down 50%). The donuts might be good, but Krispy Kreme overestimated Americans' appetite - and that's saying something. This chain overexpanded during the donut heyday of the 1990s - taking on a lot of debt - and now requires high volumes to meet expenses and interest payments. The company has cut costs and closed underperforming stores, but still hasn't earned an operating profit in three years. And now that consumers are cutting back on everything, such improvements may fail to offset top-line declines, leading Krispy Kreme to seek some kind of relief from lenders over the next year.

Well, i suspect that even if the corporation goes under many of the franchises are probably still profitable. Maybe some of those stores could re-open.

Don't care about stock prices, just donuts. I quit visiting DD shortly after they stopped making them in the stores. They are just not fresh anymore. Their coffee is good as long as you don't let them put the sugar in. I actually prefer WaWa. (It's a northeast thing)

that's my biggest thing, there product isn't bad, but it just isn't the same as fresh out of the grease. They are however scheduled to build a new factory about 3 miles from my house, so I guess they are supporting the local economy.

Alot has to do with regional food preferences. I don't understand bagels, but I do understand KK donuts. I doubt if bagels and lox would sell in the middle of Mississippi. Maybe KK shouldn't have opened stores in furrin countries like Brooklyn.

Donuts, fried sweet bread, are popular everywhere in the world, with every culture, in one form or another.
