40-years Ago Today, The Music Died

On February 3, 1959, a small-plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa, United States killed three American rock and roll musicians: Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J. P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson, as well as the pilot, Roger Peterson. The day was later called The Day the Music Died by Don McLean in his 1971 song "American Pie".

Buddy Holly was 22 years old.
Ritchie Valens was 17 years old.
The Big Bopper was 28 years old.
Roger Peterson was 22 years old.

And Waylon Jennings was the lucky one! Gave up his seat (or was forced to).

38 and no, not kidding. I had to google them. Keep in mind that in my entire life, I have never ever owned a record, tape cassette, or music CD. The only reason I even know what an IPOD is because I own/trade Apple stock. I have also never been to a music concert.
