Default Dear THT,

Dear THT,

I hope I donít lose my man card for discussing this but I have a problem. I am a 62 year old male and have hair growing every where but the appropriate place on top of my head. My hair is thinning on top but no bald spot yet. I am not so vain that I worry about that anyway. What does bug me though is the hair growing on top and inside my ears.

I usually try to use the same barber or hair stylist when I find one I like that does a decent job and doesnít charge over $20 + tip. I have recently had to start my search for another place. I hate to shop around because I have had some terrible cuts doing this. Yesterday for example, I went to a chain salon near my home. When finished, my hair looked OK so I paid $12 + since it is Christmas, a $5 tip. I get home and check it out in my 7X mirror and I still have 1 inch long hairs growing on top of my ears. Now I feel guilty for all the years I have been standing behind an old codger in line at a bank and thought about how gross it is to have hair on your ears like that. Now I am one. In defense on the hair person, I only told her trim above the ears. It is a little embarrassing to have to tell them to trim the tops also. It is not like I would expect them to trim my nose hairs.

If I thought the laser removal thing would work and would be a constant return to the laser shop for updates, I would have that done. My only experience with that was when my ex would go to have her moustache zapped. It seemed like that was a 28 day cycle also.

Besides looking for a new hair person, I am thinking of talking to a lawyer to sue for the trauma this person caused me to find multiple long hairs growing from the tops of my ears. I failed to mention that I after leaving the salon I stopped at Publix, the ATM, and the liquor store AND was required to wait in line at each place. There was a 20 something HOTTIE in line behind me at Publix. That trauma should be worth at least a 6 figure settlement. I havenít Googled this yet but maybe there is a hair growth forum support group I could join.

Any suggestions?

Merry Christmas to all

Aubrey

P. S. It will be a few weeks before I can post pictures.

Get a grooming tool and once a week, run it over your ears. They come with a variety of attachments so you can stick it in your ear or up your nose too.

I second, No Pics Please!

If the ear hair continues to grow, and the cranial apex hair continues to thin, you could eventually use it to form a very stylish "combover".

Why don't you just let the ear hair grow out and use it for "comb over"
material for the bald spot on top?

Dear Abby, dear Abby,
My feet are too long.
My hair's fallin' out,
and my rights are all wrong.

My friends they all tell me,
I have no friends at all.
Won't you write me a letter,
won't you give me a call

In the process of loosing some of my scalp hair, I had some excess ear, nose, and under-arm hair transplanted to my back!

Works for me!

Dang, eyeball, I never thought you were a John Prine guy...was your grampa a carpenter?

Pluck the hair, Aubrey, don't start cutting it. Cut it, and before long you will have ear-hairs my golden retriever would be proud to have.

Good luck. oh yeah, by the way, it stings just a bit when you pluck 'em...go for one or two at a time...
