Default Happy End of the World!!!

Some people are into this, some people are not. Whatever...

The Mayan calendar runs out to the end of the year 2012. Some folks predict worldwide geographic cataclysm, some folks think it is a time of spiritual awakening, some people think a giant meteor will crash into Washington DC and save everyone except the auto unions. Whatever...

What a lot of people don't know, or conveniently overlook is that the Gregorian calendar (named after Pope Gregory the lucky 13th), the calendar we use today, is NOT aligned to the Mayan calendar. The Gregorian calendar trails the Mayan calendar by 4-years. So, 2012 on the Mayan calendar is the same as 2008 on our calendar. Whatever...

Per the Mayan calendar, time on Earth as we know it will come to an end on the winter equinox this Sunday, Dec 21st, 2008, at 7:04am, EST. After that time everyone can put the Mayan calendar and the year 2012 hoopla to bed, forever. Whatever...

So I gotta get this posted while I can, HAPPY END OF THE WORLD!!! Whatever...

Dag Gone it,

I just started tiling a bathroom, it won't even have time to dry. Just my luck, first water damage, then this whole end of the world thing. A guy just can't catch a break.

You mean to tell me that the several hours I took clearing 4" of ice off my driveway would have been better spent drinking beer?

You know me - always looking for the silver lining ..... if either of those dates are correct then I don't have to worry about the losses I've suffered in my stock portfolio or my 401K since I'm not retiring next week nor will I be retired anytime before 2013.

The world is ending tomorrow? Then hell....I'm going to rob a bank then go round up about 20 of the hottest call girls and strippers I can find, score a pound of blow, charter a 150' yacht to Tahiti and go out in style.

I was just thinking about how uncomfortable to could be if I wake up tomorrow and the headlines read:

"The Savior has returned, meeting now with his church leaders...in Salt Lake City"

Actually the 2012 thing already accounts for calendar translation. I think.

There is actually a lot of great internet 2012 websites. Will it rain frogs? Some say yes, some say no - it will actually rain badgers.

You left out the reason the world is ending in 2012, Nibiru or Planet "X" is coming then.

Nope we're all gone. But, very strange. There are lots of - maybe thousands - young beautiful virgins running around here.....
