Default Favorite Internet Radio Stations

What free internet stations do you listen to?

Lately I've been listening to 000audio.com. (that is three zeros)

- Bar Rockin' and Jammin' Blues.
- Classic Blues from the Masters.
- Swooners and Crooners from the 30's. (Hey, they had great voices!)

The current Bar Rockin' and Jammin' Blues play list:

Currently Playing
The Fabulous Thunderbirds - Powerful Stuff

Recently Played Songs
Koko Taylor - Money Is The Name Of The Game
Jimmy Vaughan - Cool Lookin' Woman
Johnny Adams/Ruth Brown - I Don't Know
Alison Krauss - Cluck Old Hen
Buddy Guy - Fattenin' Frogs
Aerosmith - Never Loved A Girl
Stevie Ray Vaughan - Rude Mood

ETA: anyone listening to 000audio for the first time with Win Media Player, you will occasionally get a couple of pop up windows asking to display extra content. Just click on "no" and you won't get the advertisements. After the current song finishes you will get the song info for all other songs that get played, as they are played.

I listen to Pandora.com all the time-- you can build your own radio station- if you haven't tried it...check it out- its amazing- it actually starts to learn what you like via you giving songs a thumbs up or thumbs down...

Internet radio is going to kill satellite radio. As soon as a viable G3 infrastructure is in place, and they are working on it, it is not a big leap to go from internet access with your iPhone or iPod to streaming FREE internet radio over your iPod into your car.

Oh, yeah, and internet radio has higher bandwidth, much better fidelity. Sat radio is literally the crappiest of all available audio.

Go to that website I mentioned and try some streaming radio and let us know what you think.

It's not free except for the trial period, but KBON.COM for $60.00/yr. plays cajun, zydeco, blues, swamp, oldies, old country, rock, and a smattering of everything else. It's just variety and will get you movin'.

Does it have commercials? I will not pay to hear commercials. 000audio has maybe 2 mins of commercials per hr, but its free.

www.TheRadio.com it's free, sounds fantastic and has a pretty diverse base. For the moment it's free and ad free... that won't last... Enjoy it while you can!

I just downloaded an application to my iPhone that lets me stream radio stations from all over the country. Cost me $5.99 I think.

Eyeball,
I listen to it locally over the air. I just hear about the internet on their promos. There are several channels to choose from and I think some are commercian free.

Another vote for Pandora.com. The more time you spend listening the better it gets. Also they have done a pretty good job integrating with sites that give you additional song info and options to purchase it.

Pandora.com is the only way to go. I have been listening to it for months. I have built three different stations with a variety of songs. I just pick one each day depending on the mood I am in.

I agree with, what you say about internet radio. Our local radio in Tampa is great, a few hours a day. But the ads and bad news played make me want to put a paper bag over my head, and jump off the roof. The only good over the air radio is in the Keys. We did have a few great pirate radio stations a few years ago. No more. I pay for raposdy, XM, But i listen 90% of the time to KDHX ST Louis, on line for free. Its about content not bandwidth. Great topic, I'll have to give KBON a listen. Thanks!

Thanks to all of you that recommended Pandora.com. By far the best free internet radio, I'm lovin' it!!!

Problem, when I created my acct I read all of the legal stuff. Seems they are not legally allowed to stream internet radio outside of the US. I reg'd in the US (US zipcode) but what's gonna happen when I go home in a couple of weeks? Will Pandora sense my internet connection outside of the US and not stream to me anymore?!?

Maybe it's time I got serious about web surfing through a proxy.

Thanks, again!!!
