Default Auburn fires Tuberville, what do you think?

He had an 82% winning record the last 4 years, won 5 out of 6 bowl games and SEC championship, got screwed out of a national championship and now we fire him for 1 bad season...

Yep, how quickly we forget. It was definitely a spanking last Sat against UA but he did win the last 6....

The mentality of any organization be it work, sports, business is we don't care what you accomplished yesterday, what can you do for us today. Work for the same company and give them 30 years of your life and now that you're getting older, they don't need you anymore.

We are all just disposable garbage. Use us and throw us away.

Last Saturday was the first time I could say Roll Tide to an Auburn fan in a while.......

From an objective standpoint (excluding my bias), it was probably a poor move on Auburn's part. Tuberville had a lot of success and will be difficult to replace. The whole SEC was down this year. LSU, UGA, UT, pretty much everyone, had a slow year. I do not think UA has played exceptionally well this year and under normal years they probably would have at least lost a few. I think this Sat is going to be the real test though.

Not to derail, but UA's record is exceptional and they have found ways to win; however, they are still not up to what I think they can be in a few years. Sarah Jessica Parker Wilson does not make that many mistakes but he is not a great QB. Their RBs are good hard runners, but still not explosive game changers. Alabama has been consistent in winning, but their offense is nothing spectacular. Are they a good team, yes. Do they have outstanding record, yes (Way better than I was expecting!!). Have they looked exceptional in all of their games, no. Part of this is their old school line em up and hit em while running the ball down their throat mentality. It is the lack of a big play, explosive offense why they are underdogs to the Jort nation.

I hope Alabama gives em hell and whoops the cramp out of UF, but it will be a tough game for them.

Alabama has balance and heart that allows them to win over teams that should have beaten them. They're a young, young team that's going to lose some from Wilson's leaving while gaining some from what will probably be another great recruiting class.

I think that the balance of a good offense, good defense and good special teams is what's given them a super year this time. Florida might kick the snot out of them for sure....or could get intercepted a lot. Will our DEs be able to force Florida to run? Will Tebow get hurt?

Saturday's going to be a nail biter, fersure.

I think it's insane. The guy tried a new offense and it didn't work. At least he was trying something to get to another level. I'm sure he would have gotten it worked out in the offseason and be ready to go in 2009. Instead, they're now starting completely over.

I think it was crazy to fire him. Somebody is going to get a heck of a coach. Rumors are that Miss. State could be the spot for him.

I would try to get him if I were Miss State. I think Auburn made a mistake. Ten years is about the max for an sec coach. The money has gotten so big & people get tired of you. One slip-up & your gone.

Tubs was a good guy and very political. He sacrificed five or six offensive coordinators during his 10 years and finally ran out of people to throw onto the altar. I think he'd rather leave the SEC and might end up at Washington; but the U of Alabama will be sorry to see him go!

I sure they will, since he beat them 6 times in a row! By the way, I love Orange Beach, used to have a place on Perdido before moving to SC

Mistake. You have to look at who is available that will be a better coach than TT. Also would you take a job where the expectations exceed TT's record? He will land on his feet. The SEC is developing a reputation for flushing coaches that end up sucessful elsewhere. Case in point Illinois. I guess national title is the only way to keep your job for long and that does not always mean your safe. We will see if Lane Kiffen can do better at Tennesee than Fulmer did next year as well.

Fulmer and Tubs were both at their schools longer than 10 years; same for Spurrier (I think). Croom is gone after 5 years and he resigned. Alabama's had a slew of coaches since the Bear but that had to do with the selection/retention process; the good 'ol boys in Tuscaloosa wanted another Bear and somebody that had played at Alabama was a big plus, too, so the pressure was too great and the candidates that were willing to live like that were few and either desperate or inexperienced (or didn't care to put up with the BS any longer).
Tubs is leaving a program that looks like it needs patching on all four corners....I wonder whether Les Miles is going to be talking to Auburn, what with their $3.3MM paycheck dangling in the air.
