Default Pick up after your dog?

I do and I get pissed at those who don't!
I walk my dog on a street that drains to our canal and I know
a certain neighbor with a white poodle mix leaves his sh*t behind!

Ii just don't get it! Otherwise he might be an OK guy. I know dog crap is not
like toxic chemicals from industry but why?

I get dirty looks from people when walking my dog because of people like HIM!

Pick up after your dog! We're boaters and fishermen! We should know better!

I find it a real oxymoron, the master picking up after the subordinate.

But then again I can see it from the other side of the coin. The needs of a few shouldn’t have to trouble the freedoms of many.

Try this, it works! Just pour a little bacon grease on the offending feces. Within a couple of days, the doo-doo will magically vanish!!!! And you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that it probably rests inside the offender. Even better to watch their owner recoil in horror while their pooch recycles.

Sorry, but i love my dog and i always pick up after it. Luckily, she almost never needs to poop when i take her out for a walk; she's got the whole backyard for that. It really tees me off to walk down sidewalks and park greenways and see the products of irresponsible pet owners. It gives the rest of us a bad rep. That's how dogs get banned from beaches, etc.

When I walk one of my dogs, I will clean up behind them. It's disrespectful to let your dog crap in someone's yard and do nothing about it. I expect others to do the same, and when they don't, I call them on it--especially if the dog just dropped one in my front yard.
My step-son tracks all sorts of dirt and mud into the house....it's hard enough without him stepping in a pile and tracking that inside too. And before you ask, yes....he does wipe his feet. Nobody has managed to make a doormat that will take crap off a shoe completely.

You're not alone dude. I hate when people let their dogs crap on my lawn and don't pick it up. I love dogs, I grew up with dogs. But one of the reasons I don't have one now is because I don't want to have to see crap, small crap, step in crap and pick up crap. But there are people in my neighborhood that want me to do all those things.

Here is what I did. I made little signs and posted them on the trees near the sidewalk. Here is what they read.

"Hello neighbor, I don't mind your dog crapping on my lawn as long as you pick it up. I don't want to step in, look at and smell your dogs crap. So have some respect and and pickup after your dog. This property is monitored by video cameras. If I see dog crap I will review the video and return your crap to your door step. Thank you."

The dog crap has diminished by 95% and most of the people walk their dogs on the other side of the street now. And ofcourse they look at me like I'm the ass hole because most dog owners think its ok to let them crap all over other peoples property.

I used to live in a condo on the water, 1st floor. There was a nice grassy area right at my patio. After the grassy area was the dock and my boat. There is a sign that says no dog walking. But there was always one ass hole that though it didn't apply to him. I told him a few times to not let his dog crap there and he looked at me like I was an ass hole.

I fixed him. Every time his dog crapped there I picked it up and put it on the ground right at his drivers side door of his Caddy. He had to step over it to get in his car. He actually had the balls to complain to the management office. Needless to say there were many complaints on him already. Best part is that there is no sign that says you cant leave dog crap in the parking lot. I didn't even break any rules.

I can understand it being an issue I think. You folks choose to live like this though.

I guess you don't walk out to your nicely manicured lawn and find huge piles of steaming stinky shit everyday.

If you do and you don't have a problem with it then you might have a problem.

We don't choose to get mad at the piles of shit, just like we don't ask to have our lawns treated like a sewer.

There is a pooper scooper service here also. I don't know the cost.

I just leave it for the landscapers to step in and drive over.

There's a couple of these in my town....30 bucks a week for a once-a-week cleanup. If they saw my backyard, they'd raise his rates....my Golden Retreiver drops Clydesdale-sized piles.

Dog poop, that's nothing when I first bought my house the cows across the road liked to break out of their fence and dine in my front yard and leave me beautiful cow pies, The guy that owned the cows would send his kid over to shovel toe shit about once a week until he replaced the fence line, then he gave me a side of beef for my trouble.

In many of the towns and villages on LI, pooper scooper laws make not cleaning up after the dog a punishable offense, usually a fine of $100. Wiping their butts is optional.

What happened to the good ole days where you could let your dog out and let him crap in a yard 6-7 houses down and come back when he was through? No one ever complained. Back then, no one even walked their dogs. What has the world come to?
