Default Bad day to be a Gamecock fan

Grew up in Columbia, always been a fan, graduated Texas A&M (loved it when THEY beat up on Clemson........sometimes) But with it only being middle of the 2nd quarter and losing 17-0......makes me wonder if USC has a curse on ruining good College Coaches??!!

.......TBD........ ;?

OOPS....edit......I meant 24-0....WTF??!!

What the hell is Spurrier thinking? Leaving Smelley in after that first interception is just plain stooopid......
They deserve to lose playing the way they are now. Spurrier needs to reconsider his roster.....that fiasco with switching Garcia and Smelley in the last game was also dumb--one of the reasons the Gators kicked his ass.
Clemson wants this game more....plain and simple. The Cocks are playing their typical season.....choking as usual. I guess that makes Spurrier a chicken choker......

Man they needed that before the half.....two great plays,...... I think Swinney is coaching really well, nothing like a "real-time" resume. USC is playing thier typical "BIG head" football.....hopefully they can roll with this in the 2nd half.

(now if I could just see Tech beat GA, that would be sweet too.....personally I could care less, but living 12miles from Athens and being a USC fan, its always nice to have spmething to poke fun with!!)

Good game to attend......a bit wet and cold, but nothing a 6 pack and some good rain gear won't take care of. Word from the inside is that Dabo's chances are slim.......and that if the next pick isn't a winner, it will be the AD's head to roll next. Hopefully that won't be the case though.

On the way out of the stands, I heard quite a few people chanting the famous USC line..........................."Wait til next year."

Great game for us Tiger fans, we have not had much to cheer about this year with all the pre-season expectations.

Not one to second guess coaches much but not sure what OBC was thinking by not pulling Smelley however I did have a USC faithfull and Grad in my house last night and he
said Garcia has been suffering from a flu bug all week and they were pretty sure he would not be up to playing strength ;?

My understanding is the problem with keeping Dabo would be if he would terminate a LOT of the staff that TB left behind. TB was VERY loyal to his staff and most feel that was kind of his downfall
and the mutual feeling from the Tiger faithful is that a lot of the staff needs to be sent packing ;? ;?

Just my perspective but I like Dabo and would like to see him get the job but not sure who all is being interviewed, even hear Rich Rodriguez name thrown around and it seems the Michigan fans are not too happy with their first loosing season in 42 yrs even though he is playing with left overs from Carr ;? ;? ;?

If the AD at Clemson has any sense at all(which is doubtful), he will appoint Dabo head coach. Dabo has the player's confidence and is in tune with them, as indicated by how they've played the last of this season. That's something Bowden never did appreciate or master.
If USC could find a coach like that, they could be SEC champions.

I think TDP will make a good hire, he almost has to after giving TB a new contract after last season and then letting him go midway through this season. Also the only person TDP hired has been Oliver Purnell, head Basketball Coach, and he is really turning that program around.

I think the job is Dabo's unless someone else pops up and I am sure that they can get Dabo for a lot less money than somebody else

That and a good showing in a bowl would probably help, as for USC's bowl prospects, I think it was well said by ESPN about how they probably wont get as good an offer due to thier lack of performance b/t thier last two games......I just dont get Carolina, they played a helluva game against Geogia (who lost btw, glad for that!!), LSU, won against Tennesee Arkansas and loose this bad to Clemson and lets not even talk about Florida.

Thier like the sign curve effect, UP and DOWN, never consistant!! Congrats to Clemson, they deserve a bid, they obviously wanted it more tonight.

Well, it seems that Spurrier has not totally lost his mind. Garcia has been down with the flu and was not ready to play....
No excuses, though. Clemson made USC look bad...plain and simple, and they deserved the win. It's games like this that bring all the areas where Carolina needs improvement into sharp relief. No offensive line and the lack of a running game. Until USC is able to recruit like Clemson, they will always be sucking hind teat. If Dabo doesn't become head coach in Clemson, Spurrier needs to offer him a job.
I will have to fall back on the ol' standard......wait 'til next year.

If USC could find a coach like that, they could be SEC champions.

Not with Urban, Nick and Les in the SEC. Better off joining the big east and taking on Cincy.

A coach is only as good as his players....ANY team in the SEC can make the right combination of both and win. Saying a team can win just because of the coach is....well, just plain silly. If USC had a young, energetic, inspirational, knowledgeable coach along with great recruiting, it could happen. It just will never happen as long as Spurrier and the current recruiting program is in place.

A coach is only as good as his players....ANY team in the SEC can make the right combination of both and win.

The Coach has to evaluate and recruit each player and is compeltely resposible for the talent level on the team. The right combination will continue to happen at Alabama, LSU and Florida becasue of the coach and the prominence of the program.

Saying a team can win just because of the coach is....well, just plain silly.

Did I say that? I beleive that any coach at USC will have a difficult time out recruiting or coaching any of the coaches referenced in the SEC.

If USC had a young, energetic, inspirational, knowledgeable coach along with great recruiting, it could happen.

You just described the 3 coaches I referenced. Why would they want to coach at USC?

It just will never happen as long as Spurrier and the current recruiting program is in place.

If Holtz and Spurrier can not get it done it is not about the coach. Both of those guys have exceptional resumes and national titles too. Like I said join the Big East.
