Default I Don't Know Who's Side I'm On - Lawyer Tasered

Too good to be true...a wonderful Thanksgiving story. I especially like the last line, the part about the smarmy lawyer not having a smarmy lawyer.

Lawyer Tasered by Cop During Code Enforcement Meeting

A Tampa Police spokesman says 53-year-old Carl Roland Hayes was addressing the board Wednesday when he became visibly upset. He was asked to leave the meeting.

As an officer escorted him from the meeting, Tampa Police Lt. Ronald McMullen says Hayes slapped the officer in the face. The officer deployed his Taser gun on Hayes wit no effect. So the officer "drive stunned" Hayes, placing the stun gun against Hayes' skin before handcuffing him as he struggled.

Hayes is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest with violence and trespassing after warning. He did not immediately have an attorney.

Tasers are known to be ineffective on lawyers. Only two places you can hit them to be effective, in the lips or the wallet.

I think LEOs over-use the taser thing to the point of it becoming criminal. But tasing a lawyer just seems so right.

If I were acting like an idiot I'd much rather be tasered than sprayed with that Nuclear pepper spray they have
I think they should taser every Lawyer once a week just for the amount my comp insurance goes up every year The deserve to feel some of that pain they inflict on the rest of us

Question: What CFR or law governs the seizure of a vessel for services rendered. The scenerio would be at sea after recieving an assistance call, failure to pay upon arrival.

That is just because your ignorant and have never been hurt by a suspect (who is under arrest and not obeying commands). Its hard to get hurt when your in sitting in your armchair Eyeball.. For the record I have been tasered, it hurts but it is not a life changing, life ending deal.... Its like grabbing a motor magneto..no big deal...

Here some facts for you eyeball
DID YOU KNOW?

More than 14,859 law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty.
(Over 6,000 officers killed since 1960). There are approx., 740,000 sworn law enforcement officers now serving in the U.S. About 14 per cent of those officers are female.

Every year between 150 and 165 law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty.
(Approx., 300 children of police officers will need assistance in dealing with the grief of losing a parent.)

Every 54 hours somewhere in America a law enforcement dies in service to the community.
From 1986-1995, 197 convicts murdered a police officer while out on parole, probation, or early prison release. More than 100 police killers during that period were under 18 years of age.
An average murderer spends 5.5 years in prison... a "life" sentence averages 7.7 years...and 3 out of 4 convicted criminals don't go to jail at all.
Two police officers are shot every day in the United States.
Most officers are killed during arrest situations, disturbances and car crashes.
Most officers are killed between 4:01 P.M. and Midnight
25% of officers killed are killed with their own weapon.
Most officers are killed within 60 seconds of contact with suspect. 40% of the time the officer is alone or has no backup available.

More than 189 police officers are assaulted every day in the U.S. (62,000 assaulted yearly) and rising (that is one out of every nine), with 21,000 injured. Many are permently disabled.

The FBI reports that on yearly average: 380 officers are the targets of unprovoked attacks by ambush, resulting in 21 law enforcement deaths.
I am very confident in saying , that if a judge was killed every 54 hours, or 62,000 judges were assaulted annually, laws would be enacted overnight to severely penalize the offenders. It is a sad fact that in the majority of states, assaulting a police officer is only a misdemeanor offense, as in Oregon.

Schmaltz, I thought the same thing.

Here's this guy looking for legal advice which he got, not to mention the fact that another lawyer on this board offered to even send him vessel arrest forms, yet here he is knocking lawyers.

Thats not that nice.
