Default Anybody got a Honda Rancher 420 ATV??

Looking to get a 4 wheeler. The Honda Rancher is fairly affordable (less than 4K). I know the increased the motor size from 350 CC to 420 CC a couple of years ago.

How does it compare to the Yamaha Big Bear?

Honda ATV's are known for there reliability and predictable ride, handling etc. anything under 500cc Honda all the way!! Once you get into the big bores 600cc-1000cc Honda really never make one cause they wanna stick with what works. Kinda like there outboards they don't make anything bigger than a 225hp they stick with what works.

I have a Rancher 400AT 4x4...Very nice 4 wheeler for the $$. The Auto tranny is better than the CVT stuff IMO. Very capable rig and comfortable as well....Honda is the way to go for ATV's in my experienced opinion(regarding reliability)... I have owned about 15-20 ATV's of different MFG and models - Honda is the most reliable.

Just go buy the dang thing!!!!! You know you want it and can easily afford it. I have listened to you for 4 years now. And in that time I have already bought and sold 2. I will be getting another one.... eventually and knucklehead is getting back into them. So it's the perfect time to get one.

If you can easily afford it I would "Man up" and buy a 700cc+ atv cause then you can dump the stock 25" tire and start turning some 30" mud tires!!!! Also just to let you know, Honda does not have a front differential lock.

I bought a 2008 Honda Rancher 420 4x4 a few months ago.

It is a great ATV.

It has plenty of power and comfortably rides my wife I anywhere we want to go. It is the perfect size in my opinion.

If you go much bigger you will start to run into maneuverability issues depending on where you go. I use it mostly for deer hunting, but I also use it for planting all of my food plots. It easily runs a seed spreader and still has plenty of power to pull a drag. It is also small enough that if you get it really stuck you can usually pull it out by yourself.

I chose the manual transmission because I like to be able to select the gears and I figure the less parts to break the better.

I'd say that 90% of my buddies have Honda ATV's and I have heard no complaints. They are bulletproof.

It is with out a doubt the best thing I have bought in a long time.

One of the guys I ride with has the Big Bear and while I think it's a nice machine it seems like he is in and out of the shop all the time. Nothing major, but just small quircky things that fortunately I have avoided.

GO BUY IT!!!

I have a honda 450es foreman and a 1987 350 foreman one of the first atvs. Honda essentaily Invented the atv 450es has 2000hrs and the 350 who knows these atv's IMO are the best for longevety and reliability in the world.
