its on right now est

its this whale conservation ship that patrols the waters between australia and antartica as the australian govt has declared it a sactuary and whales cannot be hunted...but the whalers are saying it is for research which would make it legal. on the other hand i dont think forcibly boarding a ship is legal anywhere

I'll just say this before I go up to see if I can find it on TV. You just come up to this side of the ditch and watch the cops board your boat. Crips if you don't let them board at their free will you are guilty of something and sure as shit they are going to charge you will something by the time they are done, even if they have to make it up!!!!!!!

The part that REALLY pisses me off is, under the law I can drink aboard my boat because it is classified as a residence, well why the f#@k can they board my boat and go through my wife's personal under garments that are stored away on board without a warrant????????

I wasn't aware that the people protecting the whales were a legal agency.

I assumed they were PETAs, Greenpeacers or ELFers. Pirates!

Haven't watched it.

How in the heck does Austrailia declare international waters as anything?

I do watch Detroit Animal Police. Harrison and Dowd are my heroes.

I like Captain, he is so quick to ask for volunteers and they shouldn't be there if they won't die for the whales, why doesn't he lead by example? I can't stand that guy, he is a looney! Most of the people on the ship are nuts!! The Doc seems more normal than most and he thought boarding the ship was crazy. Right before they board the ship, Capt calls the whaling ship and calls them cowards. I'm sure the Japanease planned on giving the activist a nice warm welcome and some sushi after Capt got done with them. I watch the show, but shake my head! I understnad what they are doing, and don't think research involved killing 400 whales, but theres other ways of doing it besides boarding there ship then calling the media and saying they were kidnapped! Imagine if two clowns tried getting on your boat!!

I watched it last night. Greenpeace is a pseudo-terrorist organization. They throw acid bombs and intentionally try to destroy and disable equipment on these whalers. While I am somewhat sympathetic to this cause, the fact of the matter is Japan always has depended on the oceans for food. To them, whales are a food animal.
The Steve Irwin is sailing on treacherous waters....I have a feeling it won't be long before a Japanese Navy cruiser shows up and lobs a few 5" rounds into her.

I watched it last night. What a bunch of idiots. They started freaking out when they lost contact of their RIB. No leadership on the bridge while the captain was sleeping. the XO was losing control. I get the feeling that most of the crew have very little offshore exeprience. I am surprised they even found the antartic.

Yup - the captain is an overweight woosie and the pencil-necked guy with the glasses is a nerd. It's hard to watch that show. I don't think it'll be around next season unless the Japs punch somebody out or throw one of their "guests" overboard - that's what I was hoping for.

I really don't think Steve Irwin would have wanted his name on this boat with their genius ideas. ;?

I thought the same about both the capt and his buddy. I didn't catch the end of it, are the two morons still on the boat?

Ant- Its funny you say my, I was thinking the same thing while watching it last night. I don't think Steve would have gone for that type of conservation.

Did anyone see when they launched the RIB while underway?
They launch the thing while underway with the crane lowering it with people onboard the RIB. The RIB hits the water, turns sideways and gets dragged by the mothership. The crane cable snaps, (lucky no one was KILLED), the RIB flips over and all the idiots on board are in the freezing artic water.
It was like watching the three stooges.....

Bunch of doochebags. When they try to intentionally foul the props on that ship was when I had to turn it off. If they did immobilize that ship and bad weather occurred, that ship could have floundered, possibly resulting in loss of lives and the ship. It is terrorism pure and simple. While I personally do not agree with whaling, I've spent time in the arctic and saw how the Inuit people do it and it is as much religion as it is for subsistence. Steve Irwin is the ultimate jack-off. They intentionally board the ship then cry when the Japs detain them. What did they think was going to happen?

I agreed with you up until this statement. How does Steve Irwin have anything to do with this? He was a conservationist and purchased land to save endangered animals. I never heard him do anything like these looneys do.

FWIW-
Just sent an email to the Discovery Network asking them to reconsider airing the show. If they get enough negative feedback, they'll jerk it off fast enough.

I agree they're promoting terrorism by airing it... seems like a cult

and it was too bad they didnt succeed on throwing the guy overboard after they threw acid at their ship.

If anyone throws acid at my boat I'll be throwing some lead back. I'm unsure about maritime laws but it seems to me if someone boarded your boat in a threatening manner without identifing themsleves first you'd be able to defend yourself, passengers and ship.
