Default Military Seizes power in America...

Here's what I think is in the wind.
The oath of a soldier in America is to protect the constitution and the people right?
But all the real enemy's are right here in Washington, not in Iraq, and everybody knows it.

Far fetched? I think not...

Just who are those "real enemies of America right in Washington", according to you? Anyone who disagrees with you?

Yes, the democratically elected Congress is "the enemy" and its time for a few whack jobs to revolt because they don't like democracy. Great. "Bring it on".

Funny that you imply that would be a bad thing. As currently practiced, democracy does not appear to do much but change the cast of characters in Congress and the White House, when it is the government agencies that have the actual power. Maybe a nice purge would shake things up, since no elected official is actually going to make much of an impact on our government.

They keep electing ex-Soldiers? Who? Obama, no. Bush, barely. Clinton, no. Bush, Yes (got us out of Iraq, right after Kuwait liberation, a good thing). Reagan, no.

A Congressman is walking down the street in Washington, when a man sticks a gun in his back. The gunman stating, "Give me your money." The Congressman replies, "You can't do this, I'm A Congressman." After a second of thought the gunman replies, "OK give me all my money!"

Reagan.after 14 home study courses joined the army enlisted reserve, as a Pvt. assigned to the cavalry. He then was appointed 2nd Lieut. in the calvery reserve officers corp. Due to his nearsightedness he was classified for very limited service, & excluded from any overseas duty. Transfered to the AAF given rank of 1st. Lieut. public relations div. 1st. motion picture unit, at Culver City Calif. Then Sent to the Provisional Task Force Show Unit of "This Is The Army" He was promoted to Capt. & transfered to the Sixth War Loan drive in N.Y.C. Recomended for promotion to Major, 2nd. February, 1945 recomendation disaproved. Seperated 9 December 1945. His units produced many training films. Better than what we have lately, but I wish I served that way, (No I Don't). No Lt. Col. No Recon displays for pre anything. Maybe in the movies.

Nah, I saw it on History Channel. Maybe I was wrong about the rank. They -compiled- recon photos and updated mammoth topographical models. These were filmed like mission "previews" and shown to pilots, navigators and bombardiers to familiarize them with the run-in to the target.

When I said he was responsible for displays I did not mean he went out and took the pictures himself!

Although his unit was designated as a "training" unit this activity was more of an "intelligence" function. The army was fairly creative in WWII about mis-nomers like this. Who wants to spy on a training unit? This doesn't' change the fact the he was rear-echelon but he did serve when many of his colleagues pulled strings to do "War Films" instead of active service.

Sounds like you learned a lot today about Ron. Glad to have helped!

Oops, are we thread-jacking this "The sky is falling!" thread? Sorry!
