Default Firefly

I just discovered this nectar of the gods a few weeks ago. For most everyone that doesn't know what it is, it is sweet tea vodka and it is made in South Carolina. It tastes just like real sweet tea. Not the crap that you buy in stores like Nestea. I mean the real deal and it is the same percent alchohal as regular vodka. It may not be big in the North but this stuff is great. Who else has had it and how much do you like it?

Yeah. It is hard to find because it sells out quick. The distillery isn't able to keep up with the demand at this time I guess. Call around to the ABC stores here in NC to track some down Goosedog.

Whats it called? Just sweet tea vodka? I'd love to try it. I'll have to find it here in the Mid-Atlantic somehow.

Drink it all the time here. We even serve it in our restaurant. Great for Sunday afternoons on the boat! I wish they would do I.P.O. One of my buddies toured the distillery. He said that the owner turned down an insane sum of money from either Smirnoff or Absolut to buy them out (second hand info FWIW).

Straight with a ice or if you want a little water. A friend drinks it with Sprite but I have not tried that way yet.

Thanks Ghost, got it.
Hey proine17 (Proline 17?), where is your restaurant? Too far away from me I'm sure, but you never know.
Thanks

The tea flavor is a Tetley concentrate that is added to the vodka. You ask how does he know, my brother in law sells the Tetley to them. It is his best tea account.

Thanks for the link to that article, i thought it was excellent. And timely. I was in the liquor store on New Year's Eve (along with about a hundred of my closest friends) picking up some bourbon and gin. I remembered some THT members commenting on Firefly a few weeks ago so i grabbed a bottle to give it a try. I didn't get into it New Year's Eve, but the next day i thought i'd give it a try.

Since i never tasted it before, i thought i might read the label for any suggestions. The label said to pour it over the rocks and finish with a wedge of lemon - just like regular iced tea. So i grabbed an iced tea glass and followed the instructions. Then i sat down in front of the TV to watch some football and started to sip the tea. MAN!! It is some good stuff!!! Drank the glass in about a half an hour or so. Didn't realize that this stuff is almost 100% vodka with a little bit of flavor. Figure i drank about 10 oz. in a half an hour. Should be warning labels on this stuff!!! Dang good tea.

Good stuff....it'll hurt you bad. Found that out when a friend's wife handed me a big glass and I drank it down like......well, like tea.

Mix with water and a slice of lemon, goes down like water (or sweet tea). It will put you in a coma if you are not careful
