Default Jellyfish in REALLY early this year?

We boat in Long Island Sound and have been seeing several football sized white and red jellies for the past two/three weeks. Normally they aren't floating past until mid to late August. Has anyone else noticed this?

Was plenty in the Peconics a few weeks ago, did seem a little early for that many.

I saw hundreds of baseball sized ones the first weeks of June in Mammaroneck, being new to the sound I don't know when they should arrive.

July 12th

They were out thick in the Raritan Bay and the Lower NY Harbour. Kept sliming our lines all day. Was afraid to use the net cause it kept getting slimed.
