Default Rounding up illegals

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...063000604.html

our county exec says "It's unfair to those companies operating legally to be undercut by those who hire illegal immigrants, This sends a clear message that it's not going to be tolerated in Anne Arundel County."

Annapolis Painting Company website claims their clients to include:

the Maryland State House, the Annapolis Visitors and Convention Bureau, the U.S. Naval Academy and Anne Arundel Community College.

"ICE officials received the tip about Annapolis Painting Services 18 months ago, just as Leopold was taking office and months before he had announced his policies. "

It's good to see our government agencies reacting so quickly to the tips....Only a year and a half...

I agree... it's time OUR friggin kids work at the burger joints instead of hanging out on Pedofilespace... let the boys get out and mow yards for summer cash... If the orange growers need to raise prices, then fine...raise 'em. (I hate oranges anyway).

Time for a good round-up and export. I do like the bounty idea, and hell, if they ARE ILLEGAL, then they ARE BREAKING THE LAW, which makes them a CRIMINAL.

The only way... THE ONLY WAY... we will slow down or stop illegal immigration in this country is to actively police the employers who hire illegals. As soon as companies big and small realize that the penalties for getting caught with illegals are substantial and get stung once or twice they will stop hiring them. No jobs means no need to come here. I think it's really that simple. A big fence and an actively patrolled border will help some but if the jobs are here they will still find a way to get into the country. I live in a border town and know for a fact that as many cross at the checkpoint with forged documents as do by crossing the dessert/river/fence, etc.

Stop supplying the jobs and you'll stop them from coming.

I'm sure there would be plenty of bounty hunters ready, willing and able to corral them at substantial savings to the taxpayer. It could also be aninteresting "reality TV" show(better than COPs)!

Maybe so.

Do YOUR "friggen kids" actually WANT those jobs? Have they applied for those jobs and been turned down? Or maybe today's kids just have it too easy at home and don't understand the meaning of hard work? Would YOUR kid push a wheelbarrow filled with dirt around all day?

When I was in High School, I put in a summer of hard labor at a vermiculite factory, in front of a 1000-degree furnace. OSHA wouldn't even permit such a shop to exist today. And I did odd jobs, and even baby-sat. I chlorinated the community pool and raked the sand. All for a buck an hour.

Be very careful what you wish for.

So tell me, why aren't OUR kids doing hard labor? Maybe it's because WE taught them that life is suppposed to be easy?

Very true. If we did manage to get rid of the illegals there would be a period of shock in this country. A lot of jobs would go undone and it would take a while for things to work themselves out.

I don't see a lot of kids looking for manual labor and/or fast food jobs around here. Getting rid of the work force in thse industries wouldn't necessarily mean the teens and currently unemployed would rush to fill these positions.

I was in the cornfield at 4:00 AM picking sweetcorn by hand with a busshel basket when I was 14 years old. I did it because it paid $4.75 and hour which was pretty good since min wage was $3.25 back in '79, '80. Rode my bike in the dark to get there.
Point is, if the price is right it will attract workers to the job. But that's not what this is all about is it?
I am really surprised at the side the ACLU has come down on this subject. They are turning a blind eye to low pay (sometimes below min wage and often under the table), no benefits and often unsafe working conditions as they support illegal workers who are forced to accept these jobs at lower wages than an American.
I say shame on the aclu, la raza, voices without borders for not just allowing but in fact promoting these horrendous conditions.
I have personally witnessed drywall tapers using another mans shoulder as a scaffold instead of setting up a ladder. I have witnessed landscapers up a ladder 4 stories with 1 foot and hand on the ladder while stepping 3 feet out on a window sill to wash windows.
Would I want my kids to compete with illegals who have such standards they don't care about their own lives they are so desperate to send money to their families back across the border? Or do I want them to work for employers who value a dollar more than a workers life? I guess your right T3, our kids have had it easy compared to Mexicans. But who's fault is that?

Hey Guys!
The real problem is when these contractors don't need to hire illegals because the
economy is tanking! What do you think these already criminals will resort to ?
I expect an upturn in crime if the economy keeps going south.
If the US were a boat and illegal aliens water,
I'd think we'd find the leak and STOP it!

As far as having OUR kids do these jobs I think it would be great!
I cut lawns when I was a kid starting at 11 ! I had 4 customers my older brother had and got 4 of my own! This was 1972. I also got to cut the family lawn 2/3 acre and NO I didn't have a ride on!

AND if you were from the great frozen north, it was in 3 feet of snow from the end of October through the end of April. After that mosquito's the size of crows tried to carry you off and you had to carry guns in order to defend yourself.

Yea, my friggin kids are in the barn at 6:00am getting the equipment ready for the day (checking fluids, etc), then it breakfast and out the fields. I let them wrap up at 3:00 so they can cool off and get ready for football practice...afterall it's 100+ here during the days and the tractor runs a little hot. Last week the boy came home and was all red in the face, he said he was hot after the 3 hr football practice... BULLSHIT, I said... "son, did you keep your helmet on?... Yep, he replied... well, hell, you been in the shade then". Sent his ass out to grease the PTO and get things ready for the bush hoggin of the west fields (468 acres of prime dove territory). Hard Labor??? These SOB's got it easy. I had to turn dirt with three horses pulling a sled. Damn kids got it way too easy.

Rockhall I see you are still alive!!!Both of my boy`s worked on a farm pickin corn while they were in school. The youngest one also worked for UPS in the summer unloading trailers and guess what he is alive and kicking.I blame parents for spoiling the shit out of their kid, which sort of leaves their kids with a lousy work ethic.
