Default Trailer tire valve stem

Just got my new spare tire back from the tire store and noticed that the valve stem is chrome. The other tires have rubber valve stems. What is the best? I boat mostly in fresh water but go in the ocean a few times a year.

Do yourself a favor and take all your trailer tires to a tire place and and have them put in the metal high pressure valve stems. IF you are running tires that take 65 psi these are a must.

In my neighborhood the kids all steal the chrome cover caps for their bicycles, must be a right of passage. Replace them with black plastic ones before they can get them.
