Default I lumped someone up today

I was cleaning my work van out today. I had all my tools layed out on my driveway. I went inside to make a phone call. When I came out I saw a guy walk from the side of my house and down the farside of my van. I could see he was holding something under his jacket. I rushed up behind him and said "What do you have under your jacket bro?" He answered "Nothing" and started a slow jog down my driveway. I asked again and he started running. I chased him about 75 yards, which is further then Ive run in 10 years I might add, and caught up to him across the street in a condo complex. I tackled him to the ground. Right before I tackled him I had a flashback to being a kid and playing sandlot football. We fought on the ground for a short time and I ended with him in a wrestling move called a head and arm. As I choked him with my left, my right hand was free and I punched him in the face and head until he stopped struggling. He started to beg me to let him go. I let him up. I had my cordless tools, hand tools, a refrigerant recovery machine and everything else worth bucks on the driveway. What did he have under his jacket? Less then $10 worth the scrap copper which was now scattered on the ground. I said "You are an a--hole, if you had asked me I would have given you the whole pile." And then I noticed he was missing his 2 front teeth. He turned and ran off. I didn't even bother to pick the copper up and went home. So about an hour later and a lot of consideration, I decided to file a police report to protect myself. I was concerned he might press charges for assault since he lost 2 teeth. The police showed up, asked me a few questions, and then asked me if he was wearing a grey hooded jacket, which he was. The cop had seen him walking earlier in the day and knew who he was. They picked him up and brought him to my home for me to identify. I wasn't gonna file a complaint, then the cop said to me, "Look, this guy does stuff like this all the time. Thats how I know him. If you weren't home he's the guy who breaks your front window and robs you house." So I decided to sign the complaint. The cop called me later and informed me he had admitted it so I probably wont have to go to court. My right hand is pretty swollen right now. I'm hoping I didn't break any bones in my hand which will be a real problem since I work with them and Im a righty. Anyway, that was my day.

If you cut your hand on Bro's mouth, that might have been a bad move. Doctor time.

Sounds like a lot of work for minimal return, and a high risk venture at that. Your lucky he didn't have a knife on him or worse. I never got any satisfaction from roughing someone up myself, I wouldn't sleep at night knowing I knocked someones teeth out for a lousy nothing, guess thats the human in me.

I didn't know what he had under his jacket. I assumed it would be one of my valuable tools. If I knew it was a few pieces of copper I wouldnt have bothered. And I don't feel sorry he lost 2 teeth. Thats the chance you take when you steal.

Poor guy probably needs a job!
I corraled a robber who broke into my father's buisness years ago. I ruined a new jacket from the blood he gave up after I did a number on him. He did get something for his trouble....2 years of room & board from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Sounds like the pussy in ya... I loathe nothing worse than a thief... It's rare that real justice is served and while the OP's venture was very risky, I gotta say, those of us that aren't humanatarians towards criminals, dream of doing the same EXACT thing..

Now you know what he looks like. Next time you see him on the street, jump out of your truck and shake him down. You may come away with some great stuff he swiped from someone else. (just kidding) Good job.

See the problem is;If he would of gotten away,he would of came back for another hit on your house.Myself,I don't put up with any of that BS.To the big house for that scumbag. Now I got a friend that had went with me to a boatshow a few years back down in New Orleans. We were in a ruff part of town and this dumb @ss pulls out a hand full of money.I look at him and started to tell him that he is nuts doing what he was doing in this part of New Orleans. Now this guy is crazy at times and starts telling me he is baiting a Bro and pulls out his 44 with his right hand and laughing the hold time. This guy happens to be a retired cop.Ain't that some sh-t!Oh,that was the last trip I made with him down that way.
