Do you have nothing better to do?

You 8 to 5ers are so predictable, does the company know how much time you waste web surfing? You're a little late today, though, must've been a busy morning in the cube. Which part of "I'm retired" in my last love message are ya having trouble with? But to answer your question, no, I don't have anything better to do since it's too windy to be on the water and wind chill is a little too low for the course. Better get on that shopping, only three weekends left until Christmas ...

.. so i guess that means you sit in the house all day long...

You'd be wrong, as usual, I've been out most of the day overhauling a steering cylinder. Tomorrow will be a deer stand and college football, Sunday is for pro football since NASCSAR is on hiatus (don't know which game), Monday will be 18 holes (unless the wind quits and I go fishing), Tuesday will be flip a coin, maybe the beach place for some landscaping on Wednesday, yadada yadada, so many decisions. And jealous of where someone works? Not since the day my "earned" income went to zero. Have a nice weekend, you've probably "earned" it ...

The bird video is hilarious. The usual bureaucracy at work. You should have known that the internal investigation would find the trooper did it right, or else they would be wide open to a lawsuit, which i believe is coming anyway.
Hey freebird, I have certain area codes blocked so I don't have to deal with Idiots like country. Really though, his post couldn't have been about me, as i already explained in an email to you, me & the judge do NOT get along to well. Country is just some 12 year old at school playing on the computer instead of doing his spelling test.
Cummy why don't you come up to Little Ocmulgee State parks Golf course, and get you a comfortable room and lets work on Handicapping your azz some more. LOL I will challenge you to a golf match, and the winner gets to wrap a 1 wood around the other one's head, how about that? Are you game, or just handicapped?

Cummy why don't you come up to Little Ocmulgee State parks Golf course,

Been there and not only is it a "cow pasture" course, there's too many folks playing in tank tops! Besides, you'd probably beat up the ranger when he told you to put your shirt back on, and I'd end up in jail after you played taser dummy again. Sorry, I guess I'm just handicapped that way, so you'll just have to invite someone else who doesn't care as much about their 1 wood as I ...

For it to be the 3rd best ranked Public course in GA, I guess that means that we have pitiful courses all over GA. I think the cow pasture comment comes from someone who is full of bull$hit. Tank tops please. most of the clowns out there playing golf are idiots like yourself, who can't find anything better in life to do than go chase a a little white ball around the grass and woods, and the drink. I think golf is a racist sport anyway. why do all of you elite white folks have to have a white ball, why can't it be black or brown??
The Rangers know better than to mess with me to start with, besides that they are apparently as handicapped as you are, that is gutless.

I just checked for an update on that "investigation" as to whether or not the trooper was justified in using a Taser on that motorist.

Just when I thought this thread may be about to die out, I saw this.

A Utah trooper who used a Taser to subdue a stubborn motorist who was walking away from him during a traffic stop felt threatened and acted reasonably, state officials said Friday.

Trooper Jon Gardner remains on leave, primarily for his safety, after numerous anonymous threats were made against him, said Supt. Lance Davenport of the Utah Highway Patrol.
the consences must disagree

I figure this will play out like the O. J. trial. The trooper is found to have acted properly, but the motorist will leave the courthouse with a nice settlement when the civil suit comes to trial.

Funny how nothing was said about the trooper giving a false statement in that video. I wonder if he changed his tune during that investigation once he realized he was caught on tape. It must have been one of those heat of the moment deals when he was fearing for his life.

I think his wife should file a seperate suit for emotional distress. No doubt that guy's kid is going to be traumatized every time he sees a police officer.

I've stated before that I have nothing but respect for our LE officers who lay it on the line, but this trooper was just teaching that guy a lesson for questioning him. The trooper's Taser was already drawn, the guy was only a few feet away. Seems to me there was plenty of time to pull that trigger if the motorist had made any type of aggressive move. Again, the trooper drew his Taser as he was issuing his first instruction to turn around while the guy was simply pointing at a road sign.

Too bad the investigation didn't address any other situations where this trooper has used his Taser, but I'm sure that will be addressed in the civil suit.

Just read this article again.

"The video showed Massey arguing about whether he was exceeding the speed limit on U.S. 40 in eastern Utah. Massey got out and walked to the rear of his vehicle. The trooper pulled out his Taser when the driver tried to return to his seat."

Which video were they watching?

wow, 12 pages. The driver was an idiot for thinking he could take a trooper for a walk and look for signs..or that you should argue with a trooper on the side of the hiway. I would have asked what if I don't sign? worst case, sign and argue in court (especially with my pregnant wife sitting next to me. Guy wins award for being major blockhead.
That being said, the trooper was an idiot for not explaining your choices are: to sign (which is not an admission of guilt) or get arrested ( I also would explain if I walk away and put "refused to sign" you will get a taicket anyway). Right or wrong those are the choices. The trooper may be cleared of the use of the TASER but I would expect him to be reprimanded or worse for not acting as a professional and preventing this situation from escalating. At best the UHP takes a black eye. At worst there will be a civil suit settlement. Not good crisis management and that is part of what the trooper is supposed to manage.
Whole thing totally unnecesarry for everyone involved.

I hear ole' Lex, the mouth of the South, got himself sent to band camp for too much horn blowing. Outside of him hitting a few sour notes, he played purty good IMO.

Sounds like we may be entering another war of Northern aggression right cheer on THT. Maybe it's time for us Southern boys to take some piano lessons.

I didn't zap him, but I think the mods did. I reckon those lightning strikes broke down his resistance.

RIP Lex, wherever you are!
