Default boating in the 1800's

What kind of boats would the everyday average person be in
around 1870 - early to mid 1900's?

What were the marinas and local yacht clubs full of?

Any one have any pics of the vessels from yesteryear?

Thanks

It was a mandatory rule for boaters to wear cowboy hats and carry six shooters when boating in the 1870's. Not sure about the early 1900's as they may have gotten rid of that rule by then. Also, they were forbidden from using cheap two stroke oil, only manufacturer's brands were allowed.
