Default mb-24, NFL picks, week 10...

After my stellar performance this last week, I feel under pressure, but am ready to fly. I'll open wth my upsets and move on from there.

Cleveland wins in a trap game
The Vikings continue to roll
Phili beats the 'skins
All the rest win in predictable fashion:
TENNESSEE
CAROLINA
KANSAS CITY
Buffalo
NEW ORLEANS
BALTIMORE
Chicago
Dallas
Detroit
Indianapolis
SEATTLE

Good luck...

Wow, this is an early entry. I'm still giddy over the virtual destruction of the hated Ravens to be thinking of such important matters. It's like when my wife asks me what I want for dinner when I've just completed a 7-course breakfast...I'm too sated to think of such things.

I'll be back later in the week. After my thumping, I need some time to regroup, watch the films, and come up with this week's strategy.

Alright, Mark. I'm ready.

Looking for a turnaround. Got a little cute last week. Tried some ill-timed flea flickers. Went for it on 4th one too many times and turned it over.

This week, more ball control. Try and shorten the game.

Pack put Vikes on the pyre, no wallowing in the myre and make Curly proud in his house.

Jags play tough D and Vince Young is more Michael Vick without the ASPCA rap sheet than...he!! he's not even McNabb yet. Great promise, but Jags win.

Chiefs are quiefs no more since these Broncs belong on the receiving end of a Heath Ledger on Brokeback. With/without LJ. KC wins.

Miami's going to win one of these weeks...nah, not this one. Even with two weeks prep, Lynch mobs them.

Saints earned their "S" back last week to .500. Now, they go Greek on the Ewes.

The Steelers keep the Browns at bay in a game that will be closer than it would seem.

Iggles/Skins, yawn, Skins.

Cats eat the Falcons.

A mad Raven team isn't scary any more, but the Bengals are a shell of what they were before Kimo rolled up Carson's leg. Bal-mer wins.

Gotta go with the home team Jints to beat the Boys, but not confident...matter of principle. Nothing against 'Sid, but the I can't pick the Boys unless it is an egregious opportunity. It's like picking the Yankees. No can do.

Lions cut the Cards, but it's a lot closer than you'd think.

Bears maul the Raydiz. An ugly game for sure.

Colts/Bolts --> in August, this was the AFC Championship preview that last week ultimately became...I'm going Colts on the road since Norv Turner will find a way to blow it. His resume is such, he should be coaching the Jets.

Niners vs. "Hawks matters to a statistical naught east of Spokane. I'll go Hawks at home since Frank Gore continues to play like Tipper.

My picks for week 10 in the league where they play.........for pay

Mark

Interesting, some possibilities for a big week for both of us. I like the Pitts/Cleve game. It'll be good, but I still think trap. I'd love to see SD get it together, but I agree with you; Turner is a schmuck. Good luck...

I'm going out of town, so I need to post my wrap-up a little early. Also want to know where I stand before I travel.

Here goes. My gut says neither of us were clicking. Let's see.

The Black and Gold dispatch of the pesky Browns as the specials decide to not show up. I mean did you see that KO return for a TD. Obscene. Thank God Big Ben stepped up. Me 1-0; You 0-1

Vikings left it with the Brats on the grill at the tailgate. Go Pack Go. Me 2-0; You 0-2.

Eagles beat the Skins. My 8 year old son asked me who I wanted to win this game. I said LSU. I couldn't care less. Me 2-1; You 1-2.

Titans get Jagged off. Me 3-1; You 1-3.

Apparently that flatulent sound was actually the Quiefs sucking. Broncs win. Me 3-2; You 1-4.

Bills beat the 'Fins. Maybe Miami thought they had scored more with the exchange rate...oh wait that was last week. They still suck on two continents. Me 4-2; You 2-4.

Saints. Yoo-hoo. Overheard in a Metarie Publix..."Paper or plastic?" Reply..."Both, since we're going out to the dome next week. Paper for me and maw's head. Plastic for the Saints' heads. They should be suffocated..." I'm taking back their "S." I'm 0-2 on sodomy references. Note to self on next week's commentary. Me 4-3; You 2-5.

Bengals get 7 FGs. How much do they suck. Apparently not as bad as the Ravens. Ray Lewis is gathering up some old friends for a knifing. Target...the Raven offensive coordinator. Me 4-4; You 2-6.

Giants let TO believe they're actually the Iggles in red shirts as he jogs past the Jints secondary for 2 TDs. Jints fighting for a wild card now. Me 4-5; You 3-6.

Whisenhunt's Cards opena can of whoopa$$ on the Lions. -18 yds rushing for the Lions. They were outgained by my 5 year old in his football game vs. his 8 y/o brother today. He lost 15 yards... Me 4-6; You 3-7.

Bears beat Oakland. Not even worth a comment. A snoozer. Me 5-6; You 4-7.

See my initial comment on Norv...The Bolts get 2 return TDs. Pick off Manning 4 times in the first effing quarter, and the STILL...STILL can't put them away. They have the best RB in the game. And they can't take the air out the ball. Thru 58 mins, they have 171 yds of offense. He's a guru...Wait. Don't tell me Dungy is dumb enough to go for 4th and inches...OK here comes Vinatieri...UNBELIEVABLE!!! He pulls a Norwood! Al just reminded me he pulled a Vanderjagt. Does Manning give us the kicker who got liquored up speech pt. 2? There we go...Peyton throws number 6 of the night. Tied with the Steelers now for #2 seed, but Steelers have the tiebreaker with better conf record.

By the way, saw The Departed again last night. For a minute, Norv Turner had the same look on his face as Matt Damon when he sees Marky Mark in his apartment. Either way we push here...

We also push on Seattle/SF.

So it looks like through no skill of my own, I get this week.

Ooof, what a beating I took! I have to say, however, that watching Manning and Vinatieri gag off that loss was well worth it. Your Steelers escaped one there, bubba! Down a six-pack, with 7 to go...
