Gloucester Ma. and the entire Nor'east receive more Hurricanes that are unnamed in one season (winter) than most states in the union. We just call them Nor'easters and be on our way,We survive because we are just built for it! A 19' wave that is 40-48degrees in temp. in mid to late winter is twice as hard as a wave that is 68-82 degrees in the southern. It takes twice as long for colder more dense water to lay down than in the southern.
