Default Tahoe/Yukon remote panic button

If any of you are as sick of the panic button as I am (2003 Yukon), I just figured out an easy was to disable the button. Pop it open and there's a black rubber knob on the back side of the red button that you can shave off with a razor blade. No more alarm going off at 4:00 in the morning while loading up the truck!

I had the opposite issue a couple of weeks ago when I "misplaced" my Tahoe in a Wal Mart parking lot. I couldn't get it to work.... turned out to be a low battery...... PS: I finally "found it", 10 rows over from where I parked it......

Man I HATE that panic button. It has been more than once that I hit that button while getting ready for work at 5 AM and it doesnt like to shut off! Now I just make sure I carry the key in my hand and not by the FOB.

Is it the same as the Yukon? That would explain why my neighbor sets his alarm off at least 2-3 times every day and night. Drives me nuts, and I've always thought he was just stupid.
