Default A-Rod

An Abomb from Arod.

Can someone please explain to me that, for a guy who totally is not surprised by the opt-out, and who is decidedly anti-Arod, why am I so pizzed?

Is it the way he did it? No courtesy of a meeting with the Yankees, who had been asking for a sitdown for 7 days, calling to inform them on an answering machine, announcing during the World Series during the last game, and only then when he and his agent knew it would likely be the last game (they waited until halfway through the game), lying to the media for weeks, and then blaming it on Rivera and Jorge not having a contract yet.....

I mean... I have been broken up with before.... but it's always been the "its not you its me" speech. Arod just broke up with me and said, "its not me, its you you freaking whore" and then he took back the $500 dollars he left on the dresser on the way in.

You are really going to hate it when he winds up in Boston.

Would never happen. I could only wish. I would love it if he did.

AL, this is one Sox fan who says FUKK A-fraud, I don't want him! I was all fired up when I heard news reports that he'd been offerred $150 million for a 5-yr extension by the Yanks, then that POS boros decides he needs to insert his client into a World Series clinching game with an opt-out announcement. Gee, here's a thought for boros and a-fraud: Stop sucking and choking in the post-season and maybe YOU can be in the World Series. Dustin Pedroia, a friggin rookie, has more post-season rbi's than a-fraud fer crissakes. As far as I'm concerned, a-fraud is a coward. He's afraid to play in the bright lights of NYC and we don't want his purple-lipstick-wearing faggoty ass in Boston. I'd much rather go to war with Mike Lowell, a guy wth 2 World Series rings and a MEANINGFUL MVP. A-fraud is scum...

I'd take Lowell in a second. And I hope Angels Cubs Dodgers and other major market teams boycott Arod. Teach him and Boras a lesson.

Agree...Boston is crazy if they add that idiot to their lineup (I don't give a $hit about his stats). Keep Lowell and keep on winning...A-rod would be like cancer for that team. I almost despise him as much as Bonds...

I guess I see things differently. I liken A-Rod to Moss and think he'd work well with RS Mgt and the players. My first choice is Lowell but the Sox will not sign him for the duration he's looking for and now that his price tag just jumped through the roof there is little to no chance at getting him back. And what's ML's incentive? He has the ring and now it's all about the cha-ching!

if the Sox could sign A-Rod he would be their new franchise player and this would likely mean several additional rings over the next 4-5 years. He'd guarantee the team would make it to the post season and I bet he'd do well in post season in a RS uniform.

He's a professional athlete; he'll go where he thinks the most money will be. You didn't think he had any allegiance to the Yankees, did you?

Sox don't need Arod or his price tag. Sign Lowell and win it all in 2008!

A rod is one of the best in baseball BUT he's not worth $300mil. If he was cheaper I'd be interested in the RS making a run at him but time and time again teams prove that winning the WS is not about the highest paid players but rather about having the right guys on the field, in the dugout and in the front office.

Dustin Pedroia! What a phenom! If I were a Sox fan (kudos by the way Sox fans!) I
wouldn't want A-Rod either!

Boras is one greedy f*ck! Power to him I guess? A Rod? Still a home run king without a ring! If he was really smart and wanted to up his home run numbers even faster
he should go to the NL where pitching really sucks!
