Default Spinning

No, not when a stripped bass takes your bait and runs with it. First time I heard this I thought my buddy was losing it, sitting there at a spinning wheel. Then I learned that it was actually an exercise class on a stationary bike. Yeah, stationary!!
I signed up because I figured since I ride sixty or more miles a week on my bicycle this would be good for the winter and the short days. I had no idea what kind of torture this would be. A solid hour of high intensity pedaling, no coasting, up and down, and being driven by a sadistic instructor to the beat of the music. One-two-three-UP!-Down! geez, shoot me willya.
I might try it again in a few days.
Anybody do this for a while? How's it work out for you?

The missus does it along with all the other S&M stuff up at the club fitness center. She has legs like a vice, I mean she has good looking legs, because of it.

I have been doing spinning classes for about 18 months. Once you get the hang of it the workout is great for heart & lungs. I'm 46 and go 1-2 times a week. I also ride a mountain bike and the spinning has made a huge difference in my endurance.

An added benefit is a lot of hotties that are in good shape!! My wife has been going also. She had gained a few pounds due to a medication she was taking and with the spinning classes she lost 42 pounds in a year.

You will find different instructors use different music and draw different crowds. I take the classes at a local YMCA.

It is great exercise, but it won't completely maintain your bike fitness as spinning is quite a bit different than riding.

If you are motivated enough to ride indoors alone, you might get one of those trainers that hold your rear wheel up off the floor and just ride at home in front of your TV.

Don't try it with a mountain bike, unless you have earplugs. Tried that, it is quite loud.
