Default Capital One- junk mail kings!

I'm getting so sick of having them send these credit card applications to my house!
Every week we get one or two from them and I can't shred them fast enough!
What a PIA!

I'd never do any business with capital one anyway! They start everyone at a low rate then jam you if you're late!

Shread the application and anything with your name on it and send the disclosure document back. It isn't a big deal, but they have to pay postage on each one rec'd. A pyrric victory, but I get a laugh every time I send them in...

I got one last week. So I went online and actually applied for one (not like Im gonna use it...) and got approved instantly. I was told I would be getting my card in 3-5 days.

Well yesterday I got a letter from them. No it wasnt my new card. It was ANOTHER letter asking my to apply for one of their cards. I just dont get it...

There is an Opt-Out option if you don't want offers. I was glad I got a junk mail from them because I was looking for a money market account and they pay 4.75% with checking and an ATM card, which is MUCH better than what Wachovia was offering me.

I take the app from 1 CC company and mail it back to another.

I also mail back the Sierra Club propoganda...........but I write "trash" on every document so they can't resend it to other folks.

Since it is prepaid postage, can you use it to send mail to someone else. I already print labels with the addresses name and address for my envelopes.

Do they pay by weight? I may start mailing rocks back to them.

Easy fellas! Easy Fellas. It is just mail. It can be thrown away or looked at at you convenience!

Some board members make a living putting that crap in the mail

Bank of America does it to. I have accounts with them and still get offers for cards. Even for the cards I already have.

Many of those have a bar code printed with UV ink and will get routed back to the solicitor. So I wouldnt advise it.

Check out www.optoutprescreen.com to get out of this situation. Just like the do not call list, but for credit card offers.

I did the opt out and still get offers from them, I even have a Capitol one card for traveling abroad, no conversion fee. And yes I really get tired of the offers but wait some of them are interesting, if I really need one.

I get tons from them too. The worse though, is United Airlines that sends a letter at least once or twice a week to my office and even calls my office on occasion. I must have received well over 1000 solitications from them.

I am glad to hear I am not the only one vindictive enough to mail them back the prepaid envelopes! I thought I was being ingenious. I do get a slight feeling of satisfaction each and every time though.

One thing about Capital One that people don't realize is that having the card, whether you carry a balance or not, is that it can adversly affect your credit. Capital One does not report balances to the credit unions, so the unions automatically use the available limit as your balance.

There was an article about this a couple of months ago. I will see if I can find it and will post it.

Hey, It could be worse......................

NEW YORK — He wanted a couple of credit cards. He got a couple of thousand. Manhattan accountant Frank Van Buren found himself flooded with plastic in recent weeks, as the ExxonMobil cards kept on coming. Van Buren, who said he has had an ExxonMobil account for his business for 17 years, had ordered two copies of his card because it was expiring.

He got the cards he requested _ and then got two boxes with 1,000 cards each. Van Buren said it took hours to shred the cards, which all had his name and account number.

"How could you send me 2,000 cards by mistake?" Van Buren said he asked customer-service representatives.

ExxonMobil Corp. spokeswoman Paula Chen said the Irving, Texas-based oil company was looking into the mix-up.
