Default Captain's Club

Just curious, are memberships to the Captain's Club still being offered?

I was thinking that they were cut out with the change of ownership, but I had someone ask about it.

Maybe I'm missing something with my membership perks, but what does that membership give you other than another place to post the same stuff you see everywhere else for free?

Yeah, I remember somebody saying something about being able to list items for sale, but I never did get an owner's manual for my membership.

As for The Sandbar, at the risk of sounding like a disgruntled customer, if I wanted to see girls in bikinis or read jokes, I wouldn't be here. I suppose there is a little more interest when such things are exchanged among boaters, but then again...

I think the main perk [ before the sale ] the CC was to HELP keep the site up and running.

In the past CC memberships came with many perks including logo items, vendor discounts, free samples etc. Now days most join so they can post their boat for sale. CC Memberships kept THT online in the early years. It was a much different time back then! Some of the newer members may not be aware of the unique history of THT and only take it at face value.

So that's why you are threepeat?

I bought into it after I kept seeing other members use the emoticon for the Captain's Club thinking they were trying to tell me something. I too asked around to see what the deal was, but it was sort of like a "we'd tell you, but we'd have to shoot you" kinda deal. It's really just more of the same, but maybe I'll find a buyer for my 58 on there if I post an ad.

Like Wiley said, it was just sort of a fundraiser to help with the site, and I was happy to oblige and do my part. With all this said, is the Captain's Club still open to new members? I was never clear on whether or not this is/was an annual renewal type thing or if some really did pay extra just to get more wheels to impress the chicks!

Hey C~, you gettin' any guys with your wheel?

Hey you only need 6 more posts for 3K, go ahead and get it today

I joined to help the site and got a nice t shirt at the time, never really knew what the sandbar was till I saw something that said NC State record Clam and I clicked on it Admiral even got a kick out of that one.

This is by far my favorite site and the MOST informative on one of my addictions, boating/fishing, and the information I have here has been great over the years and I also enjoy the other discussions/disputes as well.

Admiral says I "talk" more on here than I do to her

Hey, thanks for the heads up on the 3,000 mark!

Given the trip I'm headed out on later today, I reckon I better hit that milestone while the hittin's good! Do you get a prize when you hit 3,000?

Seriously, this is a good place for boaters to hang out and mess with each other on other topics. Other than missing some big boat guys, this is definitely heads above any other forum as to general boat ownership as opposed to a specific brand of boat. I've had many members send PMs with offers of help and/or advice when certain things were brought up, and no doubt there are a bunch of good folks on here.

Maybe as a big boat owner I should buy another wheel so I'll have upper and lower helms on this forum.
