Default AAA Roadside. Usually Good... Not today

It is now 6:45PM and my driver has been stuck since 4:00PM. His cellphone is on it's last leg of battery juice.

I may have to get him out of there and ditch the truck there.
I do not know what to do except keep calling them. They tell me 5-10 min. a dozen times today.

I've used them several times with mixed results. You'll get a survey in the mail later. Be brutally honest. They didnt have the survey when I had my bad experiences but when I had excellent service 2 years ago I got got one in the mail.

Better luck next time.

I have always had excellent service with AAA tow trucks etc. I was probably lucky that I did not request service when all tow or what ever trucks were on similar missions. I can tell you that Tow Boat trailer service is strange, we were in the Keys and had a problem, and called them and told them I should say her we were on Long Key and specified the Florida Keys and she said right away. After an hour we called back and said where are they. She referred us to the Tow truck, we called and they said they could not find us and were looking. I said where on Long Key they were lookiing, they said not, they were on Long Boat Key. Had to smile a little and drink another beer in the hot sun.

Bear in mind that AAA contracts with local towing companies, so they will only be as good as the service they use. I have only used them once...knock on wood...and have no complaints.
Like Kamper said....be brutally honest when you get the survey. They will terminate the contract with the tow co. if they receive too much negative feedback.

Also bear in mind that AAA now has a 3 strikes and your out policy.

No more than 3 road service calls in a 12 month period. They should send you a letter after #1 and will send you another warning after #2.

AAA triple sucks! They call themselves emergency road service. Hah! I call them cheap road service for when you don't want to pay full price to someone who can get the job done in a reasonable time. Your story sounds waaaay too familiar to me. The last two times I was stranded, I had the same situation with those imbeciles. The truck is on its way. Ten more minutes.... fifteen more minutes... blah, blah, blah, 2.5 hours later, the truck couldn't find you so he turned around. I had to send out another one from about 1 hour away... Oh, yeah, did I mention that I was directly in front of a MAJOR sports complex down here on a MAJOR thoroughfare (US-1)?

I hate AAA. The only reason I have kept it is for the discounts at hotels and such. However, if anyone has better source for that type of discount, I would dump AAA like a bad habit. As it is, I don't think I would call them again unless I was calling for something at my house, where I wasn't in any traffic or danger.

OK... enough of my rant.
